Where to stay in Ha Long
Ha Long hotels & accommodations

The hotel has excellent facilities with enthusiastic and helpful staff. The buffet opens until 10 am so we do not have to rush for breakfast like in other hotels. What I like most is the dessert. Very delicious caramel and mousse cakes. Highly recommend for those wishing to spend a night in Ha Long!

We were there for a 2 night stay and enjoyed all facilities a lot. But one thing needs to be improved, and that is the staff at pool bar. We got to the pool and after 15 minutes I decided to look for towels by myself while at least 3 staff were at the pool bar and 2 staff were right beside the pool enjoying their chats. Furthermore even then when they noticed us, we h...

The resort is big with indoor heated pool and outdoor pool. Suitable for family relaxing trip. The location is 10m drive from Sunworld Halong Park. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood. And there will be a beach open in front of the hotel in a few months. Some of the equipments in the fitness center is broken. However, the hotel staff needs a lot more training. When I came...

ok... i have tried every single hotel in halong bai bai chai and halong city. i know everything about the hsitory of novotel here and hows its managed. it was built to be a 5 star, but they couldnt in the end so its a 4 star. as ive said before, you can call it a 4.5 star hotel. the price is great and the rooms are comftable with good internet connection. the views are...

The room is deluxe double. It has ocean view. It is wide and clean with being maintained well. I am fully satisfied with the room. And moreover they give us free dinner buffet and breakfast. But the site of hotel is apart from the center of Ha Long tourist area.

Stayed in this hotel for many times. This is one of the biggest 5 star hotels in Ha Long, with a reasonable price, coming with good service and nice staff. The room is spacious and fully-equipped. Only a small thing that is not really fine is the air conditioner, it is still cold despite the fact that whatever do with the controller, but this is not really a problem to...

All met our expectations except the announcement was not clear enough for us to understand detailed activities. Beside that, the on duty Manager (could not remember his name sorry) takes his responsibilities very seriously he, himself rode along on our boat to send us off to our car on land where the driver drives us to the Da Nang Airport and made sure our luggage wa...

We booked several rooms and travelled in a large group with children. Hotel is located on the quiet end of Ha Long Road, a couple kilometres to night market & "main street" (way overpriced and overrated), around 20 minutes walk or just catch a taxi for less than AUD$2. Hotel lobby is wonderfully massive with a welcoming fruit drink when you arrive at reception. A fruit...

We stayed at this hotel when our cruise on Ha Long Bay was cancelled due to a nearby typhoon and would recommend it only for that purpose. The hotel does not live up to its 4 star status: stains on the carpet, noisy corridors, no wifi in the room, pool and gym of poor standards. Breakfast does not offer much for Western travellers. We would recommend this hotel in an ...

After three nights in Royal Lotus Hotel Ha Long, I have to admit that it is the best hotel which I have booked via Agoda. Royal Lotus Hotel Ha Long is a brand new hotel. Consequently, the facilities are very modern and good as a four star hotel. I also was impressed by the room design, cleanliness and pleasant helpful staffs as well. Without a doubt, if I come back to ...

Impress by the hotel location althought is quite a steep driveway to the lobby. The service staff is well train but english is still not well verse and sometime some questions that we ask didn't come with a answer. The room is big and clean, bathroom up to standard. You can even see the sea view in the room although it come with a balcony, should be the best seaview i...

The beach is only 200 meters from front of hotel but it’s not clean so have to take a taxi at 10-15 k Dong to get anywhere or take a bike which are free at hotel to run up to ATM or a bakery or smoothie place . Breakfast at hotel was marginal with white toast fried eggs and terrible coffee but they include juice and a small amount of fruit - if you want lunch or dinne...

i stayed for two nights in this hotel in january 2012. there were 4 of us, so we booked two rooms. overall, i am very happy with my stay here. firstly, the hotel provides a great view of halong bay and i got two rooms on the 10th floor. the staff were really great, always smiling and ready to help. most of them were not proficient in english, but their positive attitud...

The managers helped us to translate and came to the police station with us to make a report on our stolen belongings. That was nice. the travel agent was super nice and he took us to dinner at a local restaurant and the food was amazing. He also booked us was great. However the walls in our room were moldy and there is no wall decoration whatsoever. It's a 4-star hote...

Our guide, Qui was kind, helpful, efficient and always working to do his best for everyone in the group. Ha Long Bay and the Majestic boat were even better than I hoped, the former enchanting and the latter delightful. The food was fresh, plentiful tasty and varied, the cabin was spotless, the staff was attentive and I was sorry to leave. Next time I would do 2 nights....

We did the 3 day 2 night Halong Dugong Sail Cruise, they picked us up from the guesthouse and took off to Halong Bay, little drive and checked in the boat. Nice rooms, we had 3 people and booked through Agoda with an Extra Bed. Our friend didn't get an extra bed in our room but just got another private room with interleading doors, absolutely perfect ! First day is pre...

Mp Passport was collected on arrival which seems to be the normal thing to do in Vietnam. The room was quite big, more than I needed but was nice for a change. There was a bit of an odor which seemed to comming from the paint, it looked stained or mouldy. The a/c worked well and freshened the air . The bed was very hard. The shower worked really well and the bathroom...

When we arrived in our room, I noticed that there was no hot water in the bathroom and that the shower jets did not work. I went to reception and asked for it to be repaired. Then they could not and after insisting on a room where the plumbing works, we were upgraded to a very nice suite. Unfortunately the baths' jets again did not work and after my friend fell on t...

all was well in the end, but please learn from our huge mistake. we were going to book this 2 night on-board cruise through a local travel agent over the internet who quoted us us$140 each. i checked on agoda and the price there was only a little more, so i booked there because of the added security. it wasn't until we were about to leave that we were told we would ...

Found our stay here to be great we actually extended by an extra night. Rooms were a good size and clean, beds were fairly comfortable. We were greeted by a lovely guy Viet on reception who we found very helpful with booking boat trip, the guy on reception the next day tried to get extra money out of me for the bus to Hanoi but I'd already got the price off the helpful...

My stay was good until their wireless internet access was lost for unknown reasons no one seems to know what was the problem I actually had to go to the lobby to be able to log on to the internet. Other than that the hotel offers a good value for your money the staff is friendly and the hotel is very clean

Hotel is big and the room are huge. We did not feel the 'warmth'. All the phones are not working - can't even arrange for early call. Comfortable. Less than 2 km walk to tourist wharf to catch boat rides. Take a bus to Halong City is convenient, just outside the hotel. Only 1st and 2nd floor have wifi
Cheap places to stay in Ha Long

My daughter and I met up in Ha Long and stayed 4 nights. The room was serviced every morning, and was great value for money for me. Close to tours, and markets and plenty of eating spots only a short walk away. At least 5 ATMs within 300metres of the hotel. Not for the elderly as the walk up to the reception is steep plus there is no lift but plenty of stairs. I am 57 ...

The front desk staff are very friendly, happy and always help out when they can. Good breakfast in the morning which is paid for when you stay and even if you go down later out with their breakfast time they still feed you with no bother. The room, beds and bathroom were all very clean and had hot water! We booked a trip to Ha Long Bay through the hostel and they made ...

I only planned to stay here for one night, but the day I arrived I started coming down with strong flu, I ended up staying for 3 nights not being able to do much. But the whole time the staff and the owner helped me out whenever I needed it, offering to take me to the pharmacy and going down the road to get a phone top up for me, etc.. The room had a great view too s...

We stayed in Viet Nhat Hotel for three nights. The room and bathroom were clean. The bed was a little bit hard, but you get used to it. The only problem was the noise from outside starting at 6 am (busses, motorbikes, workers) - we had a room to the street side. Ha Long City itself is unspectacular but the bay is beautiful. The whole family helped us a lot with booki...

We stayed here for a few nights to escape Hanoi and find some fresh air. Cong Nga is located off the main road , 10 minute walk from sunworld complex. We bought our Halong bay cruise trip here which was well worth it, good price, bus comes to the hotel. They have quite a few tour options here for Halong Bay and catba island, and are very organised. The staff are great,...

We decided to stay here instead of going on an overnight cruise in Halong Bay as many tourists do. It was absolutely the right decision as we had an amazing stay at Halong Ginger homestay. The house and garden is just lovely. We were completely amazed by the hospitality and friendliness of the host. We highly recommend this place!

I booked this hotel to experience the life of Halong. Though I arrived after after 6PM after my day trip through a taxi from harbor costing me 40k dong, the shops nearby were opened. Hence I could easily find food and fruits. I booked the transportation back to Hanoi here, it was 7PM but the staff who finished her work even came back who was perspiring because of me wh...

Our taxi driver said we shouldn't go there, but it was such a cute hotel. The staff didn't speak English, but we were able to understand eachother. We booked a day tour there, and the tour was so good (probably better than other companies, because you don't see the most tourist things. Green travel is it called). The bed was a bit hard, but it was okay. The only thing ...

The receptionist did not know what agoda is. She needed me pay cash for the rent, I tried many times to explain to her I have paid the rent via credit card in agoda. If I paid again, then I would pay double rent. I also showed the proof of room booking to her. However, she could only speak vietnam language. She could not understand my meaning. Finally, she rung up her ...

I booked two rooms for my family to stay one night at 22.00 o'clock. Right after I paid, I made a call but nobody picked up. We arrived at 00.15 , very late at night. I called the number on the sign, the mother answered and came down, very surprised, telling me that the hotel had been fully occupied. Then her husband came down, asking me very rudely "What bookings ...

located between Tuan Chau wharf and Halong City centre with nice lake view. Although has limited eating places but there are local noodle shop (Bun Bo Hue) and expensive seafood restaurant (Hoang Quan)! Taxi to city or to Tuan Chau >VND 120,000.... About 10mins walk to main road with public bus to Halong city >VND 10,000 each

Yeah i tell you how the staff services, when we come, she can't speak english, no smile, just one word for passport, and when we check out she didn't say a word, just accept the key card, the hotel still new, maybe it cause that. But the owner/sir very kind to us, when we arrive in our room, he came in, show us how to use the air con, the fan, and the shower. It's not...

Booked the backpackers hotel but when we checked in we were taken to a dodgy looking hotel out the back. This place was dingy, dark and outdated. The mattresss was like lying on stone and the bed sheet was like sandpaper, also our window looked straight out into 3 houses. All the switches in the room were labelled in Vietnamese yet no one thought to explain to us which...

Located near to some well-known local seafood restaurants, between downtown Ha Long City and the docks where the Ha Long Bay cruises arrive/depart from. Clean, sea-facing, and spacious rooms with a nice breeze on higher floor. Perfect for a night or two before/after Ha Long Bay cruise in order to check out the up and coming Ha Long City.

This hotel is great. Good owners, good location, extremely clean rooms, internet in your bedroom, deck out of your windows to see the water, restaurants near by, attractions near by Thank you. By the way, old decor brown dark solid wood (dont expect to be contemporary).

The staff was very helpful and could provide us with a lot of suggestions. The hotel was very nice that they upgraded our room for free as there was not many tourists. Room is clean and facility was good. The only minus could be no elevator and little smell in the bathroom sometimes.

Way better than first thought, the activities are jam packed but all worth doing. In the space of 24h we did more than we would normally do in a few days. But such an amazing experience. Staff were fantastic, especially our guide Alan. Would like to go again! Small tip for those going is the drinks on board aren’t free, apart from the water they give you.
