Great hotel during the pandemic”
My room is upgraded with city view and balcony, unfortunately, while standing in the balcony you can't see the city view as expected as it's covered by the lobby's roof :-(. The room itself is spacious. One minus point is as our room is in 6th floor, same floor with the ballroom, the security door which supposed to be closed is always open (might be by the guests too) thus less privacy as there were many events in the ballroom during our stay. Overall it's always good staying in Grand Mercure

Nice and clean hotel”
We booked 2 rooms and bith had a small balconies, so its nice to have an outside view in the morning. Nice breakfast with a lot of option. The swimming pool was quite large and clean. The basement parking area could normally acommodate the fuests, except during our 1st night it was quiet full as there was an exhibition event in the lobby area. Overall it was a nice stay in Grand Mercure

(+) The hotel was very clean and tidy. (+) The staff was very polite and helpful. (+) The location is in between Yogyakarta city centre and Airport. It suit to cover going for touring to east and south area. (-) Access way to basement parking area was quite narrow. (-) Some rooms get nothing to see due to obstructed by hotel building.

Excellent staff”
The staff really goes out their way to make you feel welcome . The breakfast was great ( given the general area in which you will find mostly Indonesian food and not the healthiest) . This breakfast had a wide variety and the staff members are excellent and so friendly. The pool is large and good. The location is good , the gym ok. The only issue I had on some nights was a sound from some sort of electrical unit that came on in the middle of the night ( it was present in the corridor / staircase and the rooms) . I put my air-con on this helped reduce the presence of the noise. So if you are on the 8th floor I would suggest to leave the aircon on at night even if just for the white noise .
