Excellent hotel, great location and exceptional customer service”
After searching for a place to stay in Siem Reap, I decided to follow the numerous positive reviews by travellers about the Golden Temple Hotel. Upon being welcomed at the hotel, I had a gut feeling that I had made the right choice but it did not take long for me to realise that not only had I made the right choice, but probably the best choice for a hotel in Siem Reap. I was welcomed by Sophin who delivered me the usual 'welcome drink' one receives when they arrive. But together with the welcome drink came a beatiful platter containing peanuts, sticky rice and fresh fruit. Then Sophin explained that my stat included complimentary vouchers for a lunch or dinner, 1 hour full body massage or foot massage and a 'snack box' to be used during my stay. Sophin explained in very good English an overview of the hotel's amenities, key times and implored me to contact reception if I had any questions/issues about anything. I class my welcome at the hotel as one of the best I have received. The rooms are very well appointed and set out and include everything that you need. They include artwork, great colour scheme and seperate bathroom with one of the best showers I have come across. The swimming pool is a joy to return to and cool off after visiting the local sites. There is a wide selection of food to choose from at the buffet breakfast including great omlettes and soups! As far as location goes, the hotel resides in an area that is centrally located and within walking distance/short tuk-tuk ride to where you may need to get to in Siem Reap. One of the keys to the succes of the Golden Temple Hotel is its staff who are extremely friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make your stay a memorable one. Special call out goes to Richard who is the guest relaions manager at the hotel for leading such a successful team. Putting it simply, the Golden Temple Hotel is the place to stay if you happen to visit Siem Reap.

Warm atmosphere, outstanding staff”
After weeks of traveling in SE Asia we found a home away from home at the Golden Temple Hotel in Siem Reap. The hotel offers a tremendous value: we stayed 7 nights, and our well-priced (for Siem Reap) deluxe room came with complimentary airport pick-up, a complimentary cell phone for local calls, a complimentary one-hour massage for each of us, and a complimentary lunch. The rooms were clean and offered such amenities a robes, coffee and tea-making set-up, as well as informative videos about the Angkor temples and the Killing Fields. All areas of service were exceptional: from the professional spa offerings, to the abundant and delicious breakfast, to the tour guide and tuk-tuk drivers. (We had a bad experience with a guide we had booked with another company prior to our arrival so we canceled the rest of the trips, and turned to the Golden temple hotel for help. With very little notice they provided us with a good guide and drivers so we could make the most of our sightseeing). The location is excellent, within walking distance from Siem Reap shopping area, but away enough to offer respite from the crowds. The decor of the hotel is warm and welcoming, the pool area is small but done in such a way as to cocoon you from street noise and has little nooks with hammocks and lounge chairs creating quiet reading corners. The food in the restaurant was fresh and well-presented with good wine. But what made the hotel a delight to be in was the staff: from the minute we arrived (and every time afterwards) we were greeted by first name, offered cool towels for our hands and invited to have some refreshments. Liza and Sophia lead a whole army of staff in offering outstanding service without a trace of unctuousness or servility. One of our best experiences in hotel stay. Highly recommended.

Had me at hello !”
We were greeted at the airport by Mr Sophal and his tuk tuk for our free airport pickup, which took about 20 minutes to reach the Golden Temple Hotel. From stepping out of the tuk tuk upon arrival at the Golden Temple, until stepping back into it for our return back to the airport, our experience at this hotel was nothing less than exceptional. When we arrived we were presented with cold towels, welcome drink and snacks that were very delicious. We only booked a standard double room at this hotel, which was located on the ground floor facing away from the pool into a small garden patio area. We paid about per night, but this also included breakfast for 2, a 1 hour Khmer massage for 2, and a picnic lunch for 2 during our temple tour and dinner for 2 in their restaurant. We dined several times in their restaurant and found all the food to be beyond our expectations, and easily on par with any restaurant in Siem Reap. Each time we arrived back at the hotel we were always welcomed by name by the staff and given cold towels again, which were very refreshing after being out in the heat of the day. We arranged various tours through the hotel which were all a great experience and value for money. Our Tuk Tuk driver Mr Sophal was a very cautious driver and was always very courteous and trustworthy. We had several trips with him during our stay in Siem Reap. Overall the quality of the hotel’s facilities, the size, décor and cleanliness of the rooms, and the impeccable service provided by the staff was nothing less than exceptional, and without doubt, one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed in.

5 star experience”
We stayed 5 nights in Aug 2015 and couldn't have been happier with our experience. Originally booked 2 rooms at Golden Temple Hotel for my family of 4 but was informed ahead of time that they would like to transfer us to Golden Temple Residences because of renovations. Turned out to be better location nearer the many restaurants and bargain massage parlors around Pub Street and Old Market. There is also a laundry service steps from the hotel which was much cheaper than hotel prices. The decor is a mix of Khmer and Indonesian styles with a spa like feel and the pool is a beautiful relaxing spot that the photos on line do not do justice. The highlight of our stay however was the exceptional friendliness of all the staff, who addressed us by name, and the many complimentary perks that would surprise us daily. On arrival we were greeted with cold drinks and traditional snacks and a cellphone to use during our stay. The room price included an hour long massage each in their beautiful spa and lunch or dinner in their restaurant that turned out to be a gourmet 4 course Khmer meal including cocktails. The evening meal includes a show of Apsara dancing on the terrace by the pool so pool is closed from around 7-9pm which was a small inconvenience . On our 4th night they brought complimentary chilled bottles of white wine to our rooms and platters of fresh fruit on our 5th night! Poolside we were treated to glasses of coconut water, iced tea and cold towels. We didn't get the ride from the airport as we were being picked up by our guide from AboutAsia travel which I also recommend for sightseeing without the crowds. I very highly recommend a stay at this well run boutique hotel in the heart of the action in Siem Reap that's set just far away enough from frenetic Pub Street to be a tranquil haven from the heat and crowds!

Best hotel staff ever, superb hotel, superb smiles”
When in Siem Reap we stayed at the Golden Temple which was the last of quite a few hotels on our four week trek through Vietnam and Cambodia and were completely blown away by the friendliness of the staff and management. In terms of general atmosphere of the hotel itself and especially the attentiveness of all of the stall, this was the best hotel of the trip. There was nothing they would not do to fulfill our requests, even sending a staff member to the shops to get a particular soft drink they didn't stock. Every time we saw a member of staff there would be a smile and greeting. They worked hard to ensure that ALL the guests needs were catered for, not only us. Everything else was top notch, the cleanliness, the restocking, and the guidance when requested, everything. Even the prices of food and drink were good compared to other hotels we had stayed at. If there was a weakness it would be the restaurant, where the service at times was a bit slow but I am nit-picking, the quality of food was very good, and indeed they have Australian beef on the menu, which after four weeks of local food came as a bit of a relief. We had it twice and it was excellent, and at a very reasonable price too. If you are intending to spend some time in Siem Reap (I would suggest 4 days minimum) stay at this hotel. From the minute you walk across the stepping stones from the street to the reception, taking in the courageous and bold colour scheme, and the extremely warm welcome I'm certain you will receive, you will love staying at this hotel. Congratulations to to the owners/management of this hotel as you have staff that obviously love working there. A win win, for you and the guests.

Beautiful hotel, very welcoming staff”
My wife and I had an amzing 4 day stay in the Golden Temple Hotel. The staff made us very welcoming from the moment we arrived, throughout our stay the staff were just amazing. The hotel itself is beautiful with its vibrant colours and traditional Khmer furniture. The location is perfect, just a 5 minute walk from all the bars, restaurants and the lovely night market. The hotel kindly provided us with bicycles for cycling to Angkor and ensured we had a tuk tuk whenever we needed one. We couldn't of stayed in a more beautiful hotel in Siem Reap, its small size gives it homely feel and makes it all feel very personal. The poolside is perfect for relaxing amongst the lush tropical greenery and Khmer sculptures. The breakfast was perfect with a choice of European or Aian cuisine. We also dined in the hotel one evening and had a fantastic meal. I can't wait to return to Siem Reap and The Golden Temple Hotel.

Good location, Amazing hospitality”
We stayed three nights. Guests are greeted with welcome drinks and fruits when checking in and we were given complementary coupons for a dinner, a picnic lunch (used during our break from temple touring), a lunch box, an amazing traditional Khmer massage at the hotel (much better than in town), and an Apsara dance show at their sister hotel (we did have to buy dinner, but it was reasonably priced compared to other advertised dance and dinner shows). They have a complimentary happy hour from 6 to 7 pm. The hotel is not new, but well-maintained and clean. The buffet-style breakfast was good and they had a cooking station where you could order omelettes, noodle soups and so forth. The bathroom in our room was a bit on the small side, but adequate. The room had a veranda where we could watch the sunrise. The swimming pool was quite large and very clean with lounge chairs. The guest relations manager was very attentive to our needs and provided helpful suggestions on tours as well as arranging the details. Location was in a quiet area with restaurants, mini-marts, and pharmacy nearby and only a 5-8 minute walk to the Old Market. The hotel's airport shuttle was very convenient. Surprisingly, the local currency in Siem Reap is USD! We would definitely stay at Golden Temple Hotel in the future.

Great resort for a solo traveler”
I am currently living in Singapore for a few months, and took the opportunity to visit Siem Reap for a quick weekend trip. As a single white female, I was nervous about traveling alone and I picked the Golden Temple based on the reviews. I hadn't done much planning before I arrived, but the staff was more than happy to take care of that. There was a whole binder full of information in the room with excursion options for very reasonable prices. I picked the two day pack and they coordinated a driver for me. He was excellent, spoke english well enough, and was very informative about the temples. I felt very safe during my entire stay. I can't really say much about the location - I spent most of my time either touring the temples or enjoying the resort facilities. I did wander about a few times, but didn't really see many other tourists and didn't know where to go. It seemed like a neighborhood style street. Because of this, I enjoyed the majority of my sit-down meals at the hotel restaurant which had FANTASTIC food. I am not much of a foodie, and am a bit of a picky eater with a sensitive stomach. I ate everything and didn't have any stomach issues. The staff was incredible, as many other reviewers have said. Everyone addressed me by name, even if I hadn't met them. They attended to my every need and were happy to do so. They even took a picture with me before I left! Endless list of gifts - welcome drink and snacks on arrival, free massage, airport transit, happy hour with free drinks every night, free 5-course meal, packed breakfast and lunch to take to the temples, unlimited bottled water, fruit and snacks when sitting by the pool, t-shirt on departure. When it wasn't free, it was super cheap - spa treatments are around $25/hour, drinks are $4-5, enormous breakfast buffet $10. I had an incredible resort vacation for a very small price. I enjoyed three treatments at the spa, the full-body massage, a facial, and a foot massage after my first day

Must stay. Lovely hotel with the best service”
I cannot praise the Golden Temple team enough for a wonderful 3 day, 2 nights trip. This is probably my first Agoda review for which I've given 5 stars on all categories. The hotel and facilities were sufficient and clean, room was well-designed and of a good size, pool was beautiful (with comp. cold tea and snacks served), comp. massage was so good we bought another, hour-long cocktail reception at 6pm with free flow wine and beer was such a great idea for guests to wind down from tiring temple visits, and their complimentary set dinner (or lunch) was AMAZING and even came with a glass of wine - dishes were very well plated and wonderfully tasty. We were offered a snack box we could bring along during our tour, and because we wanted to catch sunrise and couldn't enjoy breakfast one morning, they prepared a breakfast box as well - complete with a thermos of hot coffee each!! Besides being absolutely value for money, it is very evident that the team is very thoughtful of their guests' needs.. pre-empting exactly what their guests would appreciate most for a trip to Siem Reap in April.. including equipping us with a Nokia phone just in case we needed to call the hotel while we were out. While every staff member showed expert customer service, I'd like to specially mention the efforts of Rath Saengdy who assisted us greatly on the first day with tour planning and such. Good job Golden Temple!! I most definitely recommend this place for couples, families, and group of friends alike.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in”
Our stay at Golden temple hotel was more than just awesome. The staff are lovely from reception to restaurant and room service. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a smile, welcoming snacks and free massage. The hotel provides convenient experiences without having to leave the area. We arrived in the morning and due to an extremely early flight we were too tired to leave the hotel. But the hotel has a cooking class with the restaurant staff and we learnt how to cook 3 khmer dishes for $10 and ate it in time for lunch. The reception can also book tour services arranged to the door step and we have found it to be the cheapest (our friends were staying at other hotels). The relaxing pool was beautiful after temple hopping, massage was cheap and the restaurant is open until 11pm. We had the best time in Siem Reap and most is due to the staff at Golden Temple Hotel. Don't miss out, it is definitely worth the stay.

A wonderful gem”
I almost don't want to review the Golden Temple because it's so good and I want to keep the secret to myself! This is an almost perfect boutique hotel, beautifully designed, a fantastic staff, great pool, excellent food and really sublime massages. This is my second stay and because I was working I stayed 11 nights. I could easily have stayed longer. I have stayed in many places in Siem Reap over the last 8 years and this "wins hands down". One of the really delightful aspects of the stay is the complimentary dinner or lunch they offer guests plus a complimentary massage. I also like the location behind the Golden Temple and an easy walk across the river to the Old Market area if you so desire. Arriving at this hotel is like arriving at an oasis - it has a quite sublime ambience enhanced by the considerable effort put into the design by the young Khmer owner. The service is exceptional and the staff an utter delight and incredibly responsive, warm and friendly.

Incredible and friendly service worthy of a 5 star plus rating.”
From the moment my wife and I entered the reception area on arrival we were treated like family and the outstanding service and friendliness of all the staff continued throughout our 5 night stay. The little things and unexpected levels of service such as giving us the use of a mobile phone during our stay in case we got loss and needed to contact the hotel, cold refresher towels given out constantly whilst at the hotel. Cold Green Tea and peanuts served whilst lounging around poolside, the nightly free Happy Hour (6.00pm - 7.00pm) consisting of beer, wine and soft drink on their Sky Deck overlooking the pool and to their 1 complimentary set lunch or dinner menu which was superb. The rooms may not be the most luxurious in Siem Reap (although my wife and I found our Urban Deluxe room to be very spacious, clean and comfortable) but I would doubt you would find the same level of genuine friendliness and unexpected levels of service anywhere else! I can't thank the whole team at the Golden Temple enough in ensuring my wife's 50th Birthday' Celebrations involving visiting the magnificent ancient temple ruins was made all that more special with our stay at your hotel. What a wonderful surprise!”
We were in Siem Reap solely to go to Angkor Wat. Upon arriving at the hotel, and seeing the amenities, we wished we had planned to stay longer. This hotel's atmosphere provided the cultural environment that made us feel like we were truly in Cambodia...with all the modern amenities. Upon arriving, we were presented with cold drinks, fresh fruit, snacks and scented towels. The included breakfast was hearty enough and yet the flavors were delicate so you could properly fuel up for the day. They were able to secure an experienced temple tour driver and guide with less than 24 hours notice. The complimentary happy hour is truly complimentary, relaxing and convivial. The rooms are large and they don't skimp on air conditioning. I'm not an avid swimmer, but I would stay an extra day just to spend more time at their beautiful pristine clean pool. Above all else, their staff is friendly, kind and professional. There's no doubt this is a professionally run boutique hotel with a savvy eye towards building fans...perhaps the Four Seasons might come close to the experience we had there. We would come back to Cambodia for an excuse to stay here again. Bravo Golden Temple Hotel.

Amazing new hotel!”
the golden temple hotel (not to be confused with the golden temple villas ~ also in siem reap) was an amazing hotel! especially for the price we got for it on agoda! it was a new hotel (only a few months old) and everything was super nice and clean. also, the staff was so nice and accomodating...they helped us book our entire angkor wat adventure as well as a cooking class / local market tour with the hotel. the hotel also has wonderful and very professional massages for great low prices, and is conveniently located to the downtown area for shopping, eating and nightlife (maybe only a 5 minute walk away!) would love to stay there again!!

fantastic staff, fabulous location”
This hotel is truly a wonderful experience. The staff treat you like royalty with eucalyptus-infused cold wash cloths when you return from a hot day at the temples, playing with your child so you can dine in peace in the restaurant (which is delicious), arranging guides and transportation at a moments notice, making sure every minute of your spa experience is enjoyable, and learning your names, where you come from, and any other special needs you may have. The staff are such warm and genuinely friendly people, that is why Golden Temple is special. It also doesn't hurt that the pool is beautiful, the rooms contain a refrigerator (great for buying local food and keeping it cool), with a 5 minute walk you reach the old market, with a 7 minute walk you reach Pub Street (great for dinning) and the overall vibe of the hotel is total relaxation. The receptionists speak English fairly well, but there can be a few hiccups, as should be expected. The bathrooms are small, but very nice, all the rooms have air conditioning. We have a 9-month-old son that we stayed with and he LOVED the staff. Within a day, the entire staff knew his name and he had celebrity status at the hotel...lots of people calling his name and waving hello whenever he was around. He LOVED it. I can't believe you would have a problem at this hotel, but if you did, the staff would take care of you. This hotel is a must if you are staying in Siem Reap.

Impresive and beautiful hotel with excellent staff”
Booked two standard rooms for a night but was upgraded to twin superior with balcony for free. Spacious, clean and nicely decorated rooms. Just being transfered from their much cheaper but excellent serviced sister hotel of Golden Temple Villa which we stayed for two nights. A bit pricey but with the free massage, good complimentary breakfast, free airport pick-up and farewell gifts thrown in, it is quite a steal. A very beautifully decorated hotel with a nice swimming pool. Truly impressed with the service rendered by the attentive and excellent staff. Perfectly located and within walking distance to night markets. Very impressive and the best welcome drinks with snacks. The only negative point is the dusty road upgrading work in front of the hotel which I presumed had already been completed by now. One of the highly recommended hotel of Golden Temple chains of hotel in Siem Reap.

One of the best hotels in our lives”
if you go to siem reap, and you have 30 bucks (aprox) to spend in a night, don´t hesitate, this is your choice. when you arrive to golden temple, everything becomes easy and nice. the welcome cocktail, the nice and incredibly friendly staff, the room (lovely), the swimming pool, everything is thougt to make the traveler happy. when you see the pictures in agoda you might think, well, every hotel´s pictures look nice and then... but i can tell you this: golden temple is actually even better in real life than in the pictures. the hotel is really a small lovely place, and it´s also perfectly located, two minutes walking to the main market and pub street. everything i can say won´t be enought. we stay 2 nights and it has become one of our favorite hotels all over the world and we will never forget our stay in golden temple. we really hope to come back.

Fantastic hotel!”
I can't say enough good things about the Golden Temple hotel. My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights over the Khmer New Year. There was loud music being played across the road and after trying to sleep through it for 1 night (it was blaring until the sun came up!) we spoke to the front desk and they did everything they could to get the music turned down the second night so we could get a good nights sleep. The staff here were all very friendly, had great english skills and were incredibly accommodating. The hotel is also a very short walk from all the action in Siem Reap. We can't wait to return to Siem Reap and to stay at this hotel.

It's all true.”
When our friends heard we were visiting Siem Reap they said " You MUST stay at the Golden Temple Hotel" but, worryingly, they said it with a look in their eyes that said if you don't, we will break your legs and never talk to you again. . No contest. Read the reviews. It's all been said 1500 times. We felt like kings of Angkor. A special shout out for who was a vision of loveliness when she met us at the airport. I scanned the usual motley collection of taxi drivers and then saw our name on a sign and thought good decision instantly. She was always professional, efficient and helpful and recommended the Circus (which was great) and the faithful our TukTuk driver who was good fun and very reliable. He knocked back other jobs to drive us on tours which was nice. The more it rains the louder he sings when driving! Ask for him and give a good man some custom. If anyone has a spare $500 bucks, buy him a TukTuk and stop him having to spend money renting
