Recommended Budget Hotel in Touristy Area ”
Overall its a very pleasant stay! I like the nice small hotel with its bright and modern rooms. It is newly renovated and have all the basic things you look for. The staffs is also really nice and attentive. Its worth the price and I recommend Guest House Gading for budget travelling in Jogja! I would've extend my stay, but its full :) Guesthouse Gading is located in Prawirotaman, near Kota Gede and Keraton, a touristy area where there's a lot of hotels, restaurants, and tour and travels. Prawirotaman can be reached with TransJogja Bus (only around 10 minutes walk from a halte) as well as taxi, becak and others. The area is also very quite and comfortable, but also near to center of attractions such as Keraton and Kota Gede. One suggestion for Guesthouse Gading: Improving the Hotel pool and its water quality.

enjoyable stay within budget”
My stay was surprisingly nice. The hotel is a nice location at Prawirotaman Area which is a long alley of guesthouses, houses, bars, restaurants and tours so you can find anything you want nearby. You need to walk 20-30 minutes to get to the main city attraction which is keraton and malioboro, but there are options of taxi, tricycle or even delman (horse-cart) The guesthouse has a few rooms and a nice western/italian restaurant downstairs. The only downside was I found a trace of smelly brown damp on the side of the bedcover. The room can also do with a little dest or wardrobe because we ended up putting stuff on the top of the fridge.

The best accomodation of my trip”
It was very great for 1 star hotel, or should I say 1 star guest house. Lovely room I got. It was a small compact beautiful room. It has clean and fine bathroom. The room was equipped with latest air conditioner and television. There is a small and lovely swimming pool. Overall, I recommended you to stay here when you go to Yogyakarta.

I went with my gf during the 4th week of June, we stayed here for 2 nights and we loved it. The guest rooms are clean, nice and modern. Well located in town, only 10 minutes drive to Keraton Jogja and close to some of the best restaurant. The staff very friendly and helpful! cant go wrong about this guesthouse, excellent value! Would definitely recommend to other travellers.

Very Comfortable and Homey Bed and Breakfast Inn”
The place is really nice. The room has very basic amenities like mini fridge, air-conditioning, T&B, TV, but still have a lot of room for improvements, especially the in-room toilets. We experienced minor issues like clogged floor traps and water closet and had to change rooms the next day. Our second room was better but the door was stuck and the movement was very challenging. Hotel should do the maintenance works. The Staff was very friendly and very quick to acknowledge our requests. The hotel is modern and the design is nice and practical. We would definitely use the same accommodation on our next trip.

Pleasant stay”
It was a pleasant stay a comfortable room though a bit tiny but reasonable enough for a quality nights rest. Parking was just an issue for us because we drove from Jakarta and the street where the hotel was to be honest was a bit cramp and busy specially at dinner time. With no parking available for land travelers this was an issue. Everything else is quite good.

Bad Experience”
I hope my review can improve the hotel service. We reserved 6 rooms for 3D2N (May 1-3). Before we arrive I called the staff to make sure everything is going well and others experience will not happen to us. But unfortunately it still happens to us. It happened on May 3 in the morning, shower in room #1 and 2 were not working. The electricity in room 2 was off since the night before (May 2). We told the staff and yes, they respond it quickly, but unfortunately not solved the problems. The pool was clean and in good condition. The staff need to improve the cleanliness the area of the room (bathroom, washtuffel, wallpaper, ceiling, and so on). The breakfast should has variety not only fried rice. The hotel management should have a satisfaction survey in each room and following up the customer concern.

perfect place for night life lovers”
First time i arrived here, i've been quite confused because this BnB is straight behind Bar and Resto. It's perfect place if you love nightlife but can be nightmare if you seek a quite and peaceful place. Resto / bar open for 24 hr and they have live music when i stayed here. The best thing i can get from this bar is you can get cheap beer here! I got room number 1 which first and closest room from resto and straight in front of small pool. The room is spacious with queen size bed, flat TV, fridge and table. No wardrobe or even cloth hanger. I got room with glass sliding door instead of regular door and there no regular key, they use classic-style padlock. Staffs are very kind and helpful. But they not remind me about breakfast (ok this is my fault, i'm too tired for wake up). This BnB have perfect location. You can get many food stall, resto, bar and cafe around it. *minus : no privat parking space, even for motorcycle there only few space and we should share it with resto guests

This is definitely a guest house for foreigner”
I booked 3 rooms for parents, brother and my nephew. They reported to me that the guest house is located in a small street where there is no car park so had to park on a side street. Along the way there are also many guest houses and hotels. Lots of foreigners and entertainment venues in this area making it less convenient for people looking for a quiet atmosphere. Guest house comprises approximately 8-10 rooms and look at the recently completed renovation. The rooms are fairly clean but the sad part is the sliding door of the rooms is very difficult to open. Friendly service is a plus considering the other conditions in this location.

I booked this hotel wasn't for myself actually. I booked for a bestfriend of mine who I brought her along in my travel to Jogjakarta. The hotel is simply okay, but quite disappointed for the moment. When I was checking in, the wasn't ready (was at 11 pm) and my friend told me the aircond didn't work properly, she waited till 3 am outside for the aircond only. And in the morning shower room was massively such a mess. Sink didn't work so well and was flooded floor she said. The room actually was fine if there wasn't any problems above

The room was small but matress was comfortable. Also has a refrigerator. Staffs are friendly. We stayed for 5 nights and its very discomfort when there was no wardrobe to keep or hang your cloths. Shower water pressure in the room was very slow and the nightmare began couple of days before we checked out when there was no water supply at all. We had to used the toilet next to the pool to piss etc. since no water in our room. In fact we didn't have shower for 2 days! The hotel informed us it was due to the problem of water tanker but they didn' t do anything to help us. Also there were construction works during daytime next door building. It was so noisy during day time. I won't come back to this hotel.

Quite happy with my stay. Few points need to be raised to maintain quality (1) the pool needs a bit of cleaning; (2) the restaurant looks empty most of the time compare to opposite road restaurant. Small effort is required - maybe increase the size of menu to be visible from the street and get rid of the vehicles that often block the entrance.

We liked the look of this newly built hotel, however staying there wasn't the best experience. We found a number of major things wrong with this place, due mostly to untrained staff. We decided to help them turn the place around as it has so much potential. My husband showed them how to clean the pool and and keep the chemical balance right. I tried to tell them how to keep the rooms clean, to a much higher standard. The staff were very nice, just needed to be shown what and how to do this. We are hoping that if they get this right the place will be filled most nights. The restaurant was often empty, the place across the road was very good, we didn't touch base with them on this issue. We Wish them every success as this was the most modern place in the area and really would be a most enjoyable place to stay if they get the basics right.

Questionable hygiene. Rooms not cleaned during our 4 night stay. Airport drop off service did not show up, despite confirming twice. Breakfast simply not served as cook had not shown up (twice)

worst experience, no water at night”
What others said about bad things of this hotel, we understand it now. Totally worst nightmare ever for us. We planned to stay 20 days there, but we've checked out at 6th day, moved to another available hotel. The reason is, there's no water at night and no staff at all, except security guard. And this happened from 2nd day of our stay at random time, mostly at night. Breakfast? They said will be ready at 7-9am, but during this time, no activity at all in the restaurant. We already complained to the staff, but still no change. Finally we decided to check out of the hotel and ask for refund. One of locals said this problem happened long time until now. So, think before decide.
