Tradisi Beach Front Villas
Amed,Amed - View on map
"It was our first time, visiting Amed. We booked the beach front villa at Tradisi. It was a great choice. Looking straight out over the water from our room, watching the fishing boats come and go. Very quiet and peaceful. Great spot to view the sunset behind Mt Agung and also the sunrise across the water. The staff were all lovely. Kare also gave my husband some cold fresh aloe Vera for his sunburn. Restaurant is simple but adequate. We particularly enjoyed the vegetable omelette for breakfast and the Special fried rice (Nasi goreng). Tv was only Indonesian channels but, that didn’t worry us. The only thing I would have liked would have been a jug for boiling water, as I like to make my own coffee. I would definitely return to this hotel"

Santai Hotel
Amed,Amed - View on map
"Overall my partner and I were so excited when we first pulled into the driveway at The Santai. It is such a pretty spot and its so very relaxing. We had a bungalow right on the beach and the views were just heavenly. The room was better then what we expected. The room had great airconditioning and was very roomy indeed. The resturant was just fantastic and the chef...... Wow what can we say - food was just amazing for a 3 star hotel. They had entertainment and they were lovely people. There english isn't as good as where we normally stay in Seminyak, but who cares, you get by. Amed is a very quite little spot and I think we were the only Aussies there as most are from Europe as they love to go hiking and also go diving. Our purpose of going to Amed was for my partner to go diving and I wanted to have complete relaxtion after a busy year and it certianly did the trick. The only annoying think was the dam flys and mozzies - take lost of spray. Its not too bad through. Happy Holidays AC"

"Lovely place to stay being right on the beach, listen to the waves gently breaking on the sand at night. Step I found difficult to use as they are so high and am disabilitied. Food was fantastic. Staff great. Just a shame they have zipped the price too high now. "

Coral View Villas
Amed,Amed - View on map
"We booked via Agoda however the room we paid for was unavailable and we were upgraded to the Family room. The stay was generally great - location was good, room great, restaurant had the best food available in the bay area, pool was nice and staff were friendly and helpful. The beach, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Cluttered with boats and with coral reefs nearby, it is not a great place for swimming and relaxing on the beach. Swimming at low tide left us with cuts and scrapes from the reef. The snorkelling equipment at the hotel is poorly maintained, however, you can rent better quality equipment just in front of the hotel. "

"The place is located on the hill with probably the best view at the Agung from their in-house restaurant. They serve one of the best food in the area."

Aquaterrace Amed
Amed,Amed - View on map
"Coming to Amed and Aquaterrace was the best decision ever! I cannot express how wonderful this was. It was a tiring 3 hour ride to Amed, but it was worth it. We arrived late, Made, the humble B&B owner, came running out to greet me, appearing very relieved that I made it to Amed without trouble. We were exhausted but the view was spectacular and we punctuated our trip with dinner at their restaurant. The restaurant (like the rooms) overlook the beautiful sea with uninterrupted vastness. Amed is a quiet town built on a small close knit community of locals. Aquaterrace is run by one of them, Made, and his Japanese wife. Located right at the top of one of the hills, Aquaterrace gets a very nice elevated view of the ocean. It's also located a little further away from the busiest parts of Amed (which is hardly that busy). Which makes it quiet. Their fusion of Japanese and Balinese cuisine is a real hit with the few tourists in the area. We were staying on the lower floor, in front of the pool. So our balcony led out to the pool and the view of the ocean. The room was huge and spacious, with a beautifully decorated bathroom. The room is equipped with a hairdryer, Sensatia soap and shampoo and fresh clean towels. They also had a small mosquito coil holder though we didn't need it. Aquaterrace is impeccably run! They have a few staff, who run the kitchen and the spa which is just above the kitchen. These guys run like clockwork. Excellent service standards and special mention to their head, Ketut (or so I believe his name to be). They work as a very tight knit family, so you definitely feel very well taken care of. The staff were incredibly helpful in hooking us up with snorkelling gear, and the snorkelling point is a two minute walk down to the beach. One can simply just walk straight into the water, and be mesmerized by the amazing marine life that lives just below the surface. Best stay in Bali! I'm already planning my next trip back! "
