Form the hotels I've tested so far in the Ermita Area this is the one I liked best, not only because it's very convenient location a Roxas Boulevard and next to Rizal Park and Intramuros, but also because the facilities are the cleanest and most well kept so far. You even have a small swimming pool on the top of the building. Users generally critisise the lack of sitting place in the entrance hall, but I wouldn't consider that a major drawback. If you would like a nice view of the bay you have to ask for a room that is above the 7th floor (there are 14 in total, as far as I remember). Best experience for this category of hotel in Ermita so far.

This hotel is satisfactory. Air conditioning did sound strained in dealing with the incoming heat of 90+ degrees temperature from the outside. The hotel cafe had posted prices for its menu items, but be ready for an unexpected 12% VAT and and 10% service charge that will be added to the bill. Although the following complaint cannot be directed to the hotel, the street sidewalks in the immediate area ( it is in Ermita district ) is in serious need of repairs and the pooling of flash rain water did not help with the bad odors. Be careful walking at night as there is not enough street lighting and twisting an ankle is a risk there. Having said that, the staff is very friendly.

Ermital is a weird place. It feels like a local neighborhood, and is obviously very poor. There is some modern development consisting of condos and the Robinsons shopping mall complex. Due to it's location near Manila's tourist attractions, Ermita has many budget guesthouses. These guesthouses are cheap, but they are not nice. They are small, old, and dirty. If you have a little more to spend, the new Red Planet is a clean, modern refuge in the weirdness of Ermita. The room is small, but that's to be expected in Manila. Despite the small size, the room is sparking clean and modern, and has a huge bed. The AC is strong. The bathroom has a shower stall. The staff is helpful and booked a taxi to the airport for me. Negatives are that due to the small size, there are not many surfaces to put your stuff on. There are no hand towels in the bathroom. And the AC is surprisingly bright, and illuminates the otherwise dark room at night. Despite the minor negatives, I had a nice stay at Red Pl

More than 10 years I'm staying in my favorite hotel in Manila because I get the best value for my money. I must to try sometimes other hotels because Best Western La Corona is sometimes fully booked and then I will be happy if I can book the next time BW again. All the rooms are individually styled, clean, and in very good condition. The service is very excellent and all the staff always more as very friendly. The Frontdesk can help you also to organize some city tours or can help with information about sightseeing or shopping malls. The hotel is in the heart of Ermita in Metro Manila and you can do many things from there with a short walking distance. If you like to book a car or van from the airport it’s also a fair price and it’s working good. Let them know if you need pick up from the airport. Best Western La Corona is not a 5* hotel but you get really the best value for your money in Ermita. I hope you will try it soon

Again, I will say the same thing about this hotel. It is one of the best I have ever stayed in as far as value for the money. Due to the location, it is not as good as some in Manila, for example, Makati area, etc. But, it's not a dangerous area and has a McDonalds in walking distance and an inexpensive laundry just around the block, about 200 yards walk. Again the food is outstanding, by the standards of any country. Chef Chris is a Swiss chef who has generally mastered Italian cuisine, with some Filipino dishes added. Of course, no burgers or French Dips here! Its risotto or pasta, and some of his trademark flatbread pizzas, which are quite large and having some rich cheeses and ingredients. For burgers and more standard food, the Robinsons Mall is really not far away; by taxi or motor trike, 100 pesos is all, and in about 3-10 minutes, depending on traffic. Enjoy the malls in the Philippines, they are like Oases, for Filipinos and travelers. There is an ice skating rink in the MOA in Manila and so much to see. Service at Oasis is always great, even though staff is quite young. My second stay I had a shower that wouldn't drain so I told them immediately and then someone came and fixed it. As far as value for the money, this place is a 5. overall, I give it a solid 4. beautiful rooms, great home made ice cream in the lobby, made by Chef Chris restaurant for only 100 pesos, coffee too; lunch and sandwiches served during the day, from the Chef Chris chalkboard menu; laundry done at the hotel, but sometimes too slowly because they ship it out; nice pool and patio, and very clean rooms with nice wood on white colors and design. nice open and spacious showers also. Location is set away from main shopping areas, but it is also not aside a busy street. so, this hotel is very quiet, near a park called Paco Park, which is a memorial park and museum for Jose Rizal. Value for money, and near Ermita. Great place to stay.

I have stayed at Casa Bocobo three times now, and will definitely stay there again. It is the best value hotel in it's class in Manila (Ermita), "hands down", in my opinion. Because it is new, everything works in the room. And the hotel service staff do an excellent job in keeping everything neat and tidy in the rooms, hallways and lobby areas. Front door staff, security staff and front desk staff are all excellent and very helpful. Thanks should go to the staff for doing such a good job in making my stay so pleasant!

I picked Grand Prix Hotel while I was looking for a hotel to stay in for two nights while attending a conference because of its location along a public transportation route. If it were not raining when I arrived at the Manila airport, I would have just taken the jeepney after taking the Airport Shuttle bus to its last stop at Pasay Rotonda. Then it was walking distance (about 10 minutes) to my conference venue at the Manila Hotel. Fast food places were nearby. Breakfast was okay and you could order some other food if you wanted something other than the provided free breakfast. It is also near a commercial center and is located in the so-called Manila (Ermita) tourist belt.

We decided to stay at this hotel because of its excellent reviews and its affordable rates. Although the hotel is small just 6 floors, the rooms we stayed in are very spacious. Big king bed, big bathroom, big windows! Although they dont have swimming pool, they have big bath tub. My son didnt want to leave the tub and my mom also enjoyed her beauty dip. The location is the best, just across roxas blvd is the museong pambata. walk towards the quirino grand stand and you'll be in manila ocean park. Across the kalaw st is the Luneta Park starting at Rizal monument. Then few minutes walk going to the national museums. Fastfood and restaurants are near the hotel and you wont have problem looking for a place to eat. The staff are friendly, acccommodating, and curteous. They let us leave our baggages since we arrived early and they allowed us to check out late. They also gave us two adjacent rooms as requested. As mentioned, the rates are very affordable. We booked 2 rooms here at Luneta Hotel at a price of 1 room in other hotels. Overall, the experience is really nice and relaxing. We will definitely stay here again.

The hotel has a good location for one in the Ermita Area - it's near an LRT Station, you can easily get a taxi, and there are 7 parking levels available. The room amenities are more than or just about what you would expect for a 3-star hotel: split-type and silent aircon, 21-inch TV, refrigerator, complimentary water, slippers, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, clean T&B with hot and cold shower and sink water. Free wifi is available at the 8th and 9th floors, but it would have been better if it could be available in every room; nevertheless, having it available and free is already good. Unfortunately the front desk is at the 9th floor, I hope they could transfer it to the lobby on the ground floor. The room also smelled dusty upon entering for the first time, but that feeling later disappeared.

We've stayed here several times. It's a good place to stay in Manila if you are looking to stay in the Ermita/Malate area. The reason we usually stay here is they have a kitchen with a range and oven. The food options in Manila can be a bit lacking; so, it's nice to be able to go to the market, get a fresh fish, and cook it for dinner. It's not as posh as some of the other hotels in the area, but it is still very clean, the internet works well, and the staff is friendly. Overall, it's a good value.

I stay here every time I am in Manila. The staff always remembers me even if it has been a year or more since I have stayed. Very friendly and hospitable staff. Some of the rooms show a little wear but not bad and they are always very clean. Great location for the Ermita nightlife if that is what you are looking for. Definitely great for the money. Not an area really for families since it is pretty much a red light area, but close to everything.

We had an excellent stay at Rosas Garden Hotel. First time to book a hotel at Agoda, but the experience is super easy breezy. Super accomodationg staff, nice and comfy room and super fulfilling breakfast. Nice WIFI connection. Plus factor is that it is super near to the US embassy. And there is near Ermita church. Experience is super good. Definitely will stay here again.

In Ermita Mabini Street, this was a surprise find - at almost same rates as Red Planet - but three times large room. Room has table with chairs, full cupboard, half pantry with large sink and big bed. Toilet us also acceptable size though not as large as room size would relate. But in philliphines standards, it's not bad. Ample space to keep things..in fact 37 Sq. M is a one room apartment size. 7 elevated Dow stairs and room service with limited menu (but very reasonable prices), I would definitely recommend for those who want more space than what Tune hotel would offer. But not all are positive with only one negative - hot wate pressure is not much in the shower. But all in all an excellent choice if one wants large room at an affordable price. (Please note my comments only apply to 37 Sq. M large room)

Firstly, this is a late review as I had missed this for some reason. This is for my first stay here and I've already stayed here a few more times since (last year). This is my go-to place whenever coming to Manila. It is very conveniently located at Robinson's Place Manila (Ermita). It is actually connected as this is not the traditional hotel. It is what's called a "condo-tel". Basically they rent out condos like a hotel room, with a minimum 3-night stay. So you have the convenience of a very private condo at competitive hotel rates. Grant it, no room service or every day housecleaning, but the size, the comfort, the security, the privacy, the LOCATION - is very hard to beat. They even have a private and secured entrance directly into the mall, so you don't have to go thru the guards and weave thru the masses to get in. You also have full use of swimming pool, exercise room and private parking garage (if you've driven in). Conveniently located in Ermita, minutes away from US Embassy, Ocean Park, Baywalk and other attractions. Front desk/lobby staff have always been very attentive to your needs and helpful in all ways. I shall continue to use this site and refer them to any/all I know who are going to stay in Manila.

Very near, like really near to St. Lukes Extension Clinic. Mini Stop just below the building. Rooms are wide. Super love the wide glass window overlooking buildings. Very quite in my floor (3rd) and hallway. Staffs are very friendly, they accomodated my early check in at 12noon. Check in was a breeze. No hidden charges from Agoda. Hotel staffs (Hi Ms. Brenda and Ms..Gem!) promptly respond to my email queries even before I made the booking. Helpful guards too. I felt very safe. Wifi strength is awesome! Walking distance to Robinson Manila, and Ermita Shrine ❤ Will surely stay again soon.

This is going to sound cliche but my review is going to start with: As far as budget hotels go... And here we go... As far as budget hotels go, Go Hotels Ermita isn't too bad... Their location is near food places, near Robinson's Ermita and GrabCar drivers don't have a hard time looking for it... The room is quite small but enough for a place to put your luggage and hang your clothes... An SBD is provided as well.. The bathroom is split in two: Toilet and sink on one side while the shower is on the other side... Hot water was running for the sink.. Couldn't find it with the shower (yes, we twisted the handle to check for the water temp changes.) The room is clean enough and their housekeeping service is on point: Cleaning our room, making the bed and replenishing our daily 2 bottles of complimentary water.. Food is prohibited in the rooms.. If you get the munchies, you'll have to go down to the lobby where their cafe is... Wifi is fast and good enough for your Facebook and Youtube needs... Throw in a little Mobile Legends there as well... There is a breakfast offered but it may be a first come, first served thing as we were turned down at 8am stating there wasn't enough for us anymore... Mind you, i dont eat much and neither do my 8 and 11 year old.. The receptionist were nice and good-natured.. Pretty well-kept, i have to say... However, they need to learn how to properly respond to inquiries from Agoda bookings.. I sent a few inquiries via this app and they remain unanswered to this day... Overall, its not a bad hotel to stay at... You get what you pay for

Southern Cross Hotel is a budget hotel in the Ermita area of Manila. It is a friendly hotel, I stayed there for 10 days covering late January /early February 2017. For me the price was very good value, The room was very clean, a bar is situated on the ground floor. They have live music on twice weekly. Only down side was that elevator was not working. The engineer was working on it for some of the time I was there and it now appears to have been fixed. I will certainly stay at the southern cross hotel on my next visit to ermita.

Hotel Juliano is situated along Ermita,Manila.Mabini and Roxas Boulevard are just walking distance from the hotel. Jollibee and 711 are very accessible. One of their staff,offered me a ride going to Cubao.It was very kind of her. Thanks Sheila. Their linens smell so good. I will definitely recommend Hotel Juliano to my friends especially those who will apply for US Visa. Thumbs up to you guys.God bless!

Recommended for visitors having business at the American Embassy or anywhere around Ermita. The taxi drivers were mostly dishonest which made getting around problematic. Great for shopping at Robinson's Mall. The taxis should make getting around cheap but the alternative is the fixed rate cabs or vans which charge higher rates than the taxis which use their meters and charge the appropriate rate. Loved the food during the daytime but the late night fare was not well prepared. My wife had sweet and sour soup with pork and it turned out not tasty and the meat was chewy.

Very nice art deco hotel, such a change to stay in a place with so much history, i think it was built in the 1930s. The lift is very slow as it's the original i would imagine but that is all part ot the charm. Internet ws a little slow but not really a problem to me. Very good location for the Luneta and the rest of Ermita. Disappointingly no breakfast was provided in the cost of the room, there is a restaurant but we decided to eat outside so cannot comment what the food is like there or the cost.

Moved to this hotel from another in the same neighborhood because I needed to cut my expenses. BP was less than half the price of the first hotel for essentially the same level of accommodations. The "single deluxe" is not what Americans would consider "deluxe." Although the room was spacious, the furnishings were minimal in the extreme--a "single" bed (not a twin) about the size of a cot, a small night stand, one small chair were the only furnishings. The bed was comfortable, and the staff carefully made it up with fancily-folded towel and bedspread. There was a small LCD tv attached to the wall with about 60 cable channels. (Note that none of the hotels I have stayed in in Manila had cable service that provided anything approaching a decent picture. This includes a couple of 4-star hotels.) The room had large windows with nice views of the city. There was a sink in the room, in addition to the one in the bathroom. The bathroom was small but adequate. Everything (except TV cable) worked well. After my initial stay of 3 days, I extended for an additional 3 days instead of moving to a fancier place that I had planned on. I was very happy with these accommodations for the price, and enjoyed several long conversations with the very friendly staff.

The hotel staff was very friendly and professional during my stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. The house keeping staff was very friendly and professional. I had a couple of issues with the room and when i brought them to the hotel staff they corrected them right away. I brought a camera with me and the hotel loaned me a transformer for the room so i could charge the battery of the camera because local power is 220v. The hotel restaurant is very nice and friendly but they charge american prices for their meals.

I had a very nice stay at Ralph Anthony Suites. The Staffs especially the guards and the room attendant were very accommodating and approachable. For 2 days of stay I feel safe, comfortable as if I'm just at home. Aside from that I am satisfied with the services that they had for a cheap price. It's the best place to stay especially when you are having your medical examination at St. Luke's Medical Extension Clinic for it is just a walking distance from the hotel.
