Not worth the high price tag”
We got a very good deal on this hotel and I was excited to experience it. We stay at the Ritz Carlton for special occasions and I was expecting that level of service and facilities and maybe that was my mistake. I don’t know if it’s because we arrived around 10pm, but the check in staff was not very welcoming or helpful. The room we were given had a messed up lock (the faceplate where you scan your key card was missing but technically the lock still worked), and the bathroom counter had a large white stain on it presumably from some type of cleaning of product that wasn’t properly rinsed or wiped off. Based on our experience checking in and our jet lag, we decided to make the best of the room rather than going back down and asking for a different room. There were also many maintenance issues that need to be addressed. For example, you could tell the bathroom had flooded at one point because the bottom of the door frames were warped from the water damage and poorly repainted. Similarly, there was mold growing on the shower caulking. Just not what you expect from a place that regularly charges over 1k a night. The good things I can say are that the coffee from the cafe downstairs was excellent as was the burger we ordered from room service. But overall I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and we definitely won’t be staying there again.
