We drove for this trip - Carpark at half rates (1000yen for 24 hours). Carpark just beside the hotel! Hotel staff very helpful, good coffee, way better than expected rooms! Large spacious and well equipped

The hotel is 5 minutes drive from nearest station, but we had a room with a beautiful view of Wakayama Castle, which is just cross the street. The room is very clean, nice staffs and has a good buffet breakfast.

4 Nights in Wakayama”
Wonderful hotel with the best view in the city (I had a castle-view room). The staff was very professional, check in and out were a breeze, and the room (I had a standard double) was spacious. No water-pressure issues in the shower, TV easily connected to my computer by HDMI, room had free wifi and ethernet service. The location is good... It's right across the street from castle park, and the building has a number of restaurants connected to it to choose from. There is also a 24-hour convenience store in the building (which here in Japan includes a decent number of fast-food items as well as beer/wine/liquor). The hotel is a 20 minute walk from JR Wakayama Station, 5-10 minutes by bus or cab. A great hotel. Recommended. このホテルはいいところです。おすすめです。和歌山市の一番ホテルだと思います！

Castle view rooms are worth it! ”
Booked a one night stay in a Castle view room and we were not disappointed. Check in rather strict at 2pm. Given highest floor, 1803. Twin room spacious with comfy beds. But pillows offered were too soft so called to ask for two harder pillows. Location very good as only 5 mins walk to History Museum & Maple Garden. If walk another 10 mins from Maple Garden, you will arrive at the Castle. Views from the room was astounding! Breakfasts next day was superb, with egg station & deep fried scallops! Normal price is 1,500 jpy, so get it included in your room package. The only reason we gave it 4 stars was cos of average sleep quality. In October, night temperature falls to around 16 degrees C, and the central aircon only blows minimal air, making the room stuffy. No choice, we opened the sliding windows (cannot be opened 100%) and in come the city noises! Thus, as light sleepers, we only slept reasonably well but not into deep sleep. Still, its highly recommended you stay here esoecially during hotter minths when their aircon is in full mode.

The view of Wakayama Castle and whole city from guest room (Castle side) on the higher floor is very nice. Breakfast on the 3rd floor is impressive with much closer view of Wakayama Castle.

Good for value”
I stayed in this hotel before but mostly in the high-season whereas the price was quite high. This time I cab get a special price from Agoda, this was a good value one. But one thing I am not satisfy with the cleanliness on the room I stayed is I found few long dark hairs in the washing floor and also the hotel catalogue on the desk inside the room! I don't know if this was the left by the previous guest or from the hotel staff. I hope on my future stay, this shall be happened again!

Good size room with massage chair and a great view of Wakayama Castle”
Our room at Daiwa Roynet Hotel looked directly across from Wakayama Castle. We had a great view of the castle both during the morning or day time and also at night as the castle is lit up at night too. A surprise was finding a massage chair in our room which we used a bit. The staff are friendly.

Rooms are well equipped n spacious Japanese standards. The decor is slightly dated with a digital alarm clock from the late 90s by your bed and no iPhone pods. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. If you are too tired, the shopping centre under the hotel has a western bistro, Japanese restaurant and Chinese restaurant (which I had not tried any since there are local restaurants just around the corner). However, we did pop into the Family Mart for snacks and drinks since the hotel had environmentally friendly policy of not providing guests with bottled water. The hotel is about a 25 min walk from Wakayama Train Station but buses frequent a stop (in front of the castle) just opposite. It's a perfect location for visiting the Wakayama Castle. If you are planning to take any trains from Wakayama City. This hotel is conveniently located 10 min walk away from there. For example, we took the Mendetai Train (pretty sea bream train) to the quiet seaside town, Kada.

Valued and recommmended”
Compared to another hotel around JR Wakayama, this is a well valued hotel I stayed at Wakayama. Reception staff can speak English and easy communicated, also offered very useful info and coupon. We went to Ginpei Honten for dinner, and have two free beer by using the coupon. Good view as we could see Wakayama Castle thru room window. Surely will stay at this hotel again if visiting Wakayama.

Good hotel to stay in Wakayama”
location is easy to find, have a big car park next to the hotel. Just 2 minutes walk from the Wakayama Castle, can see the night view of the castle from the window of the room. A massage chair is equipped in the room, very nice. Convenience store is just on the ground floor. Staff is helpful, capable in English. Room is spacious, tidy, comfortable to stay.

Best view for Wakayama Castle”
The location is the best in Wakayama city in some way. Because the hotel is just a side of Wakayama Castle. You can enjoy the view. Especially if you visit in Early April, you can enjoy Full of cherry blooming in the castle. If you are into castle or cherry trees. Please request to locate the room castle side.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel was good value. We requested for a high floor facing the castle and the fantastic staff gave us a room of 15th floor. The view was awesome especially at night. Room was good value for what i paid for. Breakfast was very good and lots of local products available for breakfast in addition to the standard Japanese fare. Only issue was its a 15 min walk to the rail station but we enjoy walking so its not an issue. Bus is available. There a convenience store in the building. Lots of ramen shops walking distance. Good place to stay in Wakayama.

Excellent service at restaurant, but the food choices are not enough. Big rooms especially in Japan.Clean and tidy. Web site said there is parking lot for free, however it has to be charged.Good location , facing Wakayama castle, terrific view, seeing that the reception staff asking the Japanese clients if they want the coffee pack, however they just give me some bathing things.
