My parents love the hotel ”
There are lots of new hotel in Makassar now. But my parents and our bug family always want to stay here. It's a big hotel, the swimming pool is one of the best in Makassar and we got good clean room. The staffs are friendly even though sometimes they seemed in a rush. We always get complimentary Markisa juice which really good and so Indonesia! Did I mention Clarion's breakfast which cater international and local foods in a big spread buffet? We will come back again, for sure.

Grand Claro is a real nice hotel and has done a lot of improvement compared to my last visit 2 years ago, breakfast was very nice with a lot of choices, this is the most impressive part of my stay, most hotels in Makassar don’t put attention to the breakfast and just serve plain blah, but Grand Claro, im impressed. My room was quite clean, bedsheet a little stain also pillow case stained, but the worse is the towel, smells cigarette real bad, really gross, and i had to use that on my toddler as we travel just the two of us. If you have business appointments in Pettarani/Panakukang area, this is one of the best place to stay, but if you need to travel often to the city area like around Losari beach then be prepare to face some traffic jams and now is the worst timing due to road construction along the street of Pettarani. Overall its a very nice hotel, value for money? Umm like i say, if i have things to do just in Pettarani area then I will stay again, but then if not, theres a few of same 4-5 stars hotels in the city with slightly lower price. Will I recommend and or come back again to Grand Claro? Yes if im on business trip or travelling alone.

Clarion Hotel has the best location, it located nearby the panakukkang area which is a new happening spot in Makassar. It has great lobby and the breakfast is pretty nice. We stay for one night but we really feel that this new hotel is clean and nicely arranged. It also has one of the most happening club in Makassar

Declining but Comfortable Anyway”
This hotel is now declining: no more welcome drinks, sofas need replacements, AC switches have holes, safe deposit box lost numbers, water heater needs repairing. But I could sleep comfortably & had a great breakfast with affordable price in one of the biggest hotel in Makassar. Still recommended.

Grand Clarion is a good luxury hotel for business traveler. Its located in the city centre of Makassar. Hotel also provide a good SPA that located in the hotel area. Overall, Grand Clarion is a very good hotel. The room size was good, and the service also very good.

It's located in the center of the city. If you want to have business in Makassar, this will be fine. But for pleasure, I suggest you choose other hotels in Losari area. The rooms were big but kinda empty and the decoration (if any) was a bit boring. The staff were polite and helpful though, and the breakfast were good and tasty.
