"The staff at the Golden Tulip work really hard to make your stay there a great experience. For Oman, where most hotels open to foreigners are very expensive, the Golden Tulip offers great value. It has a lovely pool, which when the summer is on, is the best place to cool down. There is also a variety of bars, where you can have soft or alcoholic drinks - again not always available in Oman. The food, especially the curries, is great - in the evening the tandoor is working and the best curries are on offer. Definitely a great place to stay to visit Nizwa, Jebel Akhdar or Jebel Shams"

"Location in the market is great and there is a cachet to the exterior of the hotel. Staff also was very very friendly. However several things should be improved: rooms are nowhere as clean as they should be, variety and quality of food at breakfast are lacking, and there are barely any facilities in the room: no TV, no fridge, no hanger for towels, no coffee pot and not enough light to read."
