Where to stay in Niigata
Niigata hotels & accommodations

I have stayed here before as it is just opposite Niigata train station. It is a step up from the usual business hotel and very good value for the price. As it was a holiday the next day and I guess nobody wants to stay in Niigata on a holiday, the price was only about 3800 yen per night. I had a flight the next morning and so chose it again, mainly because of the locat...

Our group stayed in a twin and a room with double bed during our 3 night stay in Niigata. The hotel is on top of the convention centre and the rooms have either a great view of the Japan Sea or Niigata City. It's about 20 min walk from JR Niigata station and it was a pleasant walk. If you have luggage, you can take the hotel shuttle bus which is 3 min walk from ...

The hotel is connected to the Niigata Train Station so it could not have been more convenient. The staff was very polite and efficient. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The breakfast is outstanding with offerings of a wide selection of Japanese dishes as well as typical Western fares. We bought a day pass for the Niigata Loop Bus which circled around the...

Stayed in the hotel for four nights. The bed was large enough for couple, unlike most other Japanese business class hotels, and comfortable. Staff has basic english skills so you can manage. Room service was excellent and they keep everything very clean. The only problem is the distance to the Niigata station. If you have your own vehicle then its fine. There are bus...

Located not far from the Southern Gate of Niigata Station. Although the single room is very small, the facilities, staff, amenities are all THUMBS UP!! The relaxation room at 2nd floor has a series of Japanese manga. There are also 2 massage sofa and free flow of coffee. At the same floor too, there is the Bath Place (Daiyoku jyo). The Bath Place is accessible by femal...

We needed a relatively cheap hotel as we were catching the ferry from Niigata to Tomokamai in the morning. It was centrally located and provided parking for 800 yen at the back of the hotel. The front desk staff did a fantastic job of pointing out some close by attractions and a restaurant area near by. The rooms were small but neat and tidy. The bed was small, but we ...

extremely well positioned next to the Niigata Train Station. that for me is a plus although theres really nothing much to do in the neighbourhood value for money when measured it as a japanese hotel. HOWEVER, Was booked into a smoking room.( by my request). just that there is only heater in the room with no AC. asked the front desk and they did apologize saying its ...

This was our second stay at this hotel. It's adjacent to Niigata JR station so it's very convenient for independent travelers. While the rooms are relatively small, we found them to be cozy and clean and more than adequate for us. The free breakfasts were also excellent. We would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Niigata area.

The facilities are excellent and the vastness of the ground floor is amazing; many places for one to sit and relax. Love the Onsen. The buffett breakfast has many types of food and the Omakase dinner was delicious and plenty to eat. There is an adjacent Golf driving range and paddy field for one to wonder around the open space. The staff does not speak English; two st...

I booked this hotel last minute and got a great rate. The location is extremely convenient, being a short walk for the station. Be sure to not confuse it with other similarly named hotels in the area. The best part about this hotel is that you get one free beer with your stay!

The service here was amazing, with staff very pleased to help. Onset was clean and refreshing. However we booked non smoking room- only to find we were put on a smoking floor- which meant strong odor as soon as we entered floor and our room even more so. Staff were unable to relocate us, and being in a less busy area- alternative rooms was not possible. This was a sma...

The house is just amazing. Everything in the building is taken care of. Beds are comfy, design cool. Facilites are many. The only problem, the counter is closed most of the day, so you better arrange your arrival, or you just arrived between 17 or 22. And there’s no way to communicate with the person working in there. But overall I really enjoy my time there.

this hotel is somewhat far from the main centre of niigata and also the station area. it is next to the main river on the east of town, a bus ride or taxi from the main areas. however the hotel is clean and efficient, with friendly staff. rooms are well equipped and offer good value for money. the restaurant is somewhat basic, but the plus point is definitely the small...

Really convenient location, within two minutes of the Niigata Station Bandai Exit. Hotel has most amenities though there was a lack of WiFi. From the hotel you can take a train to your next location, do the grocery shopping at the station building or grab a bus at the large bus terminals on either side of the station.

Received a warm welcome on arrival but that was the end of happy. We were asked about our preference for a smoking or non smoking room at check-in. Of course we said we wanted the non-smoking none of us smoke. However, the room we ended up in had no view of the river. We paid AU$175 for one night in a hotel quite a distance from Niigata Station yet we had a window full...

The heater in takes time to warm up the room. During the winter, for a place as cold as Niigata, this is not very encouraging. The carpet in the room (at least the one I lodged in) was dirty and hard. On the plus side the complimentary breakfast is great.

Agoda should only offers hotels which staff are able to communicate in basic English. In this hotel, it was a total no. So much time is wasted trying to make each other understand each other. Even when you tried to use Google translate and show them the meaning, they explained to you in Japanese! Can't ask for anything, can't tell them our needs. It is basically accept...

Niigata is a smallish major city in Japan's north. You can use this port to take a ferry to the historic island of Sado, or you can visit some of the local museums/art galleries or even take in a J-League soccer game.
A very interesting region with an excellent and fascinating history. Easily accessible by Shinkansen.
Nice to touch Japanese water in this small town. It is not hi tech as Tokyo but about 1 night here before going to your destination is acceptable.
