Muscat hotels & places to stay

This hotel is located in convenient area. It has good access to a new shopping mall, Muscat Grand Shopping Mall, bus stop, restaurant, bakery and cafe. Sightseeeing area is a little far from this hotel. But, hotel staff are very helpful. They shared local information with me, confronted a bad taxi driver instead of me and always worried about me. I really appriciate. Oman has many beautifule place, but I will look back what you did for me when I remember this trip. My Oman trip was made by you. Thank you very much.

We knew nothing about Muscat and it's geography. We happened into the hotel because of the value and the ratings. The location is excellent, not far from the airport and attached to the Grand Mall and a walk to the Oman Avenues Mall. The mall allowed us options for eating. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. Julius, at the front desk, was always there to welcome us throughout our stay and to answer questions and assist when needed. Justin, the head concierge, was very helpful and informative. We knew we were in good hands when those to were called upon.

Mysk al Mouj is an excellent hotel, very modern, clean and uptodate. Very capable and friendly staff and a very good cuisine (breakfast as well as diner - on Thursday evening an "Ocean" evening is being organized, with a big number of fresh fish to choose from. In the neigbourhood there are a number of other fine restaurants to choose from. Parking facilities are ok and for free. The 40 km from Muscat town do not bother given you have a car, otherwise taxis are not that expensive. Nex time in Muscat it's Mysk al Mouj all over again!!! From Belgium with love!!

Great hotel in a good location. If your driving while in Muscat they do have a parking garage below the hotel which is secure and free to use. The location is right on the edge of many of many shopping districts and not far from Oman Avenues and Muscat Grand Malls. The staff is very helpful and they do have a restaurant and the atrium area serves a variety of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I also made use of their business center to print off documents that i needed. I do like they fact they had a pool and sauna, but would suggest the hotel update some of there exercise machines. One treadmill was not working, and the other had treads which kept slipping. All in all this is a good place to stay.

I loved this hotel!! From the moment I walked in the staff have been wonderful!! I recommend this hotel highly for anyone going to Muscat. The hospitality, cleanliness and everything this hotel have done for me is unbelievable and they will do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible 🙆 A big thank you to all the staff their and I will be staying again in the future!!

Nice new hotel. Clean and comfortable. Beds were extremely comfortable and staff helpful and pleasant. Nice roof top swimming pool. Quiet with lovely breakfast. A bit far out of center so unless you have a car can be expensive for taxi rides. Very good Indian restaurant close by and some good small Arabic eating places. Seemed to be mainly business people staying here. They do not serve alcohol as do some of the larger hotels in Muscat. Would recommend this hotel over all.

I booked this hotel in advance for 8 nights and was fairly shocked to find that there were building works above my room. I have to say though that the assistant manager Wael and his staff did everything to put this right and I left feeling very well looked after and would love to return again in the future. The hotel itself is in a great situation just 5 minutes walk from Ruwi bus station which makes the whole of Muscat very accessible for between 40p and 60p a trip. Ruwi is a very busy predominantly Indian area, I enjoyed the hustle and bustle and also the fact that I could access Indian homeopathy, yoga and an ayuvedic hospital very reasonably. I found Oman to be clean, the people are kind and helpful and places like the Grand Mosque (which is free to visit 8-11am apart from Friday's) an absolute joy. Watch out for the taxis, I met many people who had paid huge amounts to the taxi drivers. You should be able to get 2-3 miles for 2 rial. I met people paying 5 times that.

The best place when looking for tranquility, relaxation and luxury! It's a wonderful place for those seeking relaxation in a unique surrounding. Some staff people are not 5star level but overall it's a fantastic place (even though expensive) to relax, hence i came already for the 2nd time. To go out for dinnere you need to take a cab, there is nothing in short walking distance. Muscat downtown is 15mins away by car. The only downside: the beach is not really 5star, i would give it 4 stars!

The hotel is located at 5th floor of the new terminal near several lounges. It looks a 4 star hotel . The room rate for each hour is Oman Rial 6.8 ( $18) . I used a six hour package for 29 Dec which was ralatively expensive compared to a package of 12 hours in Jan 2019 . The room and bed are truly comfortable and nice. The package is with one meal breakfast or lunch or dinner + tea and coffee and using free Internet. The restaurant and cafe were nice decorated along with acceptable food and cozy rooms. I dont recommend this hotel for special days or holidays as the package is expensive but for the rest of the days seems good.

I was looking for a 4-5 star hotel on the sea in Oman and this popped up as a special on Agoda. I had never been to Oman before, so of course I had not stayed at this hotel previously. I was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms were huge with ample air conditioning. The large king-sized bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a tub and a large shower stall. The hotel amenities were first rate, with a nice buffet on Fridays. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip.

Our expectations weren't amazing given that the City Seasons was a lot cheaper than the likes of Crowne Plaza, Intercontinental. But we were really pleasantly surprised. The superior room was huge with a massive bed and a decent sized bath. There is no bar, but a great rooftop pool with a view out to sea. Plus, City Seasons is really conveniently located so that it's easy to get to the east or west of Muscat and only an 8OMR taxi from the airport. Staff were really charming, too, and the Oman national football team were staying while we were there! A really good value place.

Mutrah Hotel was a welcome respite for this solo traveller. I didn't want to stay at a fancy resort outside of town.There was an onsite restaurant that was good and they serve alcohol. There is also a lounge - which I didn't patronize due mostly to the smoking. My room was comfortable and clean. Mostly I enjoyed being able to walk to the souk, the fish market and muscat harbour. Otherwise, in Oman, you have to book tours or take taxis everywhere. It's very spread out and very expensive. I ended up being there for four days and nights and it was too long. You could do Mutrah, Muscat in two days easily. I did catch up on a lot of sleep though.

To reach this hotel was a rather adventurous ride through windy mountainous roads. Specatular and enjoyable ride though. For first timers driving on this road it may take at least 1 to 1 1/2 hours to navigate through these roads to reach the hotel. The hotel is so isolated that ifyou wanted to get into the city (Muscat) it would be a tiring drive back. The hotel itself is lovely and set on a marina. There is a private beach for the hotel which is not ideal for swimming as there are lots of stones. However there is another beach near by. We had a room facing the swimming pool. The balcony opens out to the pool which was fantastic as we were able to put our baby to sleep in the room and go to pool while at the same time being able to keep an eye on her. Pool was average size. The hotel provided a cot and bathtub for the baby at no extra cost which we found very helpful. There is a small mini mart at walking distance in case you need to buy a few grocery items. The food I would say was average. Sometimes we had amazing food and sometimes it was just ok. The chicken biriyani however was delicious. There isn't a wide selection for al la carte and there is only one restaurant so we were very limited in terms of food choices. There is no place near by to get a quick bite even as the hotel is so isolated. Having said this the area is still under development and there are plans to set up more restaurants in this area in the near future. The staff are very friendly and hospitable. Everyone had a smile and were so corteuous and helpful. They definitely made the stay more worthwhile. One of the best holidays I have had. Me and my husband enjoyed ourselves even with the baby. It was so relaxing. Felt like we were in another world away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Definitely going back here again and will recommend this to anyone.

The service in this hotel was top-notch. The staff were very concerned that we would have a fabulous stay. The dining room staff catered to our desires and provided delicious meals with excellent service. Muscat Dunes is an excellent choice for your stay in Muscat. If you have a car, the hotel is conveniently located and is a quiet base to explore the city. The staff assisted us in obtaining taxis as we didn't have a car and we utilized our driver to provide a city tour and trip to Nizwa. We stayed here twice, once in a studio and once in a bedroom suite and both were spacious and well appointed. All staff members were committed to making our stay as comfortable as possible. In consultation with the dining room manager we were able to arrange meals to meet our specific needs. Breakfast offered fresh eggs of varying styles along with an abundance of other foods. Maria, the marketing consultant, suggested we enjoy a day at the beach at Oman Dive Center. That was truly a wonderful plan and we swam,relaxed and snorkled most of the day before taking a taxi back to Muscat Dunes Hotel.

It seems to be difficult finding a good hotel at mid-range prices in Muscat, so we were delighted to find Eastin Residences. The location initially seemed hidden away in a northern pocket of sprawling Muscat, but with views over the beach from the rooftop pool area (and the front rooms), the convenience of a supermarket and Pizza Hut below and the short drive to other centres / freeway has made the location fine. With modern, immaculate rooms, an airy and tidy restaurant and good wifi, what really sets this place apart is the genuine friendliness of the staff. The general manager clearly has very high standards and can be seen instiling this in her staff. Little touches like 'surprise' pancakes made for our kids at breakfast we're appreciated.

The hotel is located near the international airport at Muscat, which was a positive point. A second positive point was the very good front desk staff. But, there were two negative points that would stop us going back there: 1. The hotel does not have a licence to serve alcohol, which is unusual for hotels in Muscat aimed at attracting international travellers. 2. The breakfasts and the staff serving them were dreadful. It seemed that the front desk staff and the restaurant staff were from different hotels - an enormous difference. We stayed there three nights over four days. On the first day, the toaster was defective. It was still defective three days later and none of the kitchen staff could make toast by another method - no initiative whatsoever.

My stay at the Husin Al Khaleej was pleasant with only 3 minor complaints. When I first arrived there was no running water in my room I checked-in late (9pm) and I guess the night shift wasn't able to correct the issue long story short I didn't get running water until the next morning (9am)The other minor issues are the lack of cooking utensil, pots and pans and the cheap equipment used in the gym definitely not up to standards. However the positives far outweighed the negatives with the outstanding customer service especially the young lady working the front desk I hope I got her name correct, the great location, and comfortable spacious rooms make this an easy review for me and I will stay there again if I am ever in Muscat
