Traveling to Morocco? Find Fes hotels

The hotel is very modern and nice. Our deluxe rooms with direct access to the swimming pool were large and beautiful. The Acqua di Parma products is a nice touch. The hotel is a bit disorganised. We had some issues at the time of booking, which took a few emails to resolve. The very expensive New Year's eve gala was nice but not worth the €150 per person. We asked for a guide for a tour of the Medina who still managed to take us to a carpet shop and to a pottery shop! Not a great tour either! The staff is very friendly and the bar rooftop has a nice view of the Medina. A bit expensive but still the best place to stay in Fes if you are not on a budget..

I booked two nights at Laaroussa after just 10 minutes of hotel research for Fez because of its glowing reviews. No regrets! And I shall add another. Friendly staff Rajae, Karim, Anwar and Mr Porter - they were ever so helpful. Fatima, the chef - oh my, best meal I had in Morocco for sure. I don’t like lamb and I finished every bit of her lamb tagine. The riad is gorgeous, the owners have preserved the original design. The whole experience is a highlight of my trip to Morocco. If I live in EMEA, I’ll be happy to fly into Fez and stay at Laaroussa for weekend getaways. Alas, I don’t.

Noordien welcomed us so warmly and maintained the friendly, helpful and professional service throughout. Thank you again Noordien. The setting was quite breath-taking....the fountain, plants and trees in the courtyard as well as the beautiful authentic decor created a typical Moroccan experience for us. The breakfast was substantial and delicious. Thank you to the kitchen staff again too. You all left a huge impression on us. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this riad... Lune et soleil

The hotel for the price is good, nothing luxury but a comfortable bed to sleep in a clean room with tv and light breakfast is served (nothing fancy, but it does the job for a start to the morning)....hot eggs on request, bread, tea/coffee, yogurt, juice........cutlery is normally limited and refreshed every few minutes. I thought booking with Agoda meant everything is paid but you still have to pay local city tax on arrival around 10dhirams a night, not very expensive but it would be good to know prior to booking so that you are prepared on check-in. Otherwise great hotel, does the job at great value and well worth recommending.

Our stay was superb in a hotel converted from a palace. The most wonderful moment was being hosted by the owner, Mr Driss & his family, during our last night. The famous Moroccan hospitality was displayed by all the staff in their service in every room in the hotel. The breakfasts were excellent, diverse range of foods. Our dinner on the terrace was divine. The signature dish, a lamb cooked in tagine was so tender that it just broke apart by a glance. The pool was enchantingly serene. Nice touch was a platter of fruits served and it was a gift. Heaps of towels! generously placed on deck chairs. Like most riads, there are lots of stairs but Palais Faraj has lifts! Excellent for the disabled, unfit and aged! HIghly recommended as Palais Faraj has combined the best of traditional riads (great service with Moroccan hearts & souls) and modern amenities such as lifts, TV (although the reception was not the best) and fantastic wifi, all free! Indeed, a very classy hotel!

I arrived late at Fez, so this hotel is very practical as it's situated besides the main train station (in new town area). However if you're looking for authentic Morocco experience, you have to try riad. although, from this hotel, u can take a taxi (20dh) to old town, in 15min. Still, most convenient place to stay if you're looking for short stay and using the train station.

We loved everything about this place. Our room was beautiful, the water was hot, the air conditioning worked very well. The staff was friendly we had so much fun with them. The pool was clean and refreshing, unlike other hotels we stayed at in Morocco. Breakfast was delicious, traditional with pancakes fruit honey toast. The view from the roof was lovely. I would recommend this place to anyone, it was a 10-minute walk from the Blue Gate. I have zero complaints. I would rebook this hotel in a heartbeat. Too bad more hotels in Morocco were not like this one. Well done Palais Houyam!! 10/10 !!!!!

Moundir and Ahmed provided excellent service and advice. Location easy to access (look up on the walls of the Médina and follow the signs-ask shopkeepers the first trip) and convenient. Lots of shops, food, donkeys along the way. The room was comfortable and nice shower, great aircon. Lounge/breakfast room beautifully decorated. Nice breakfast and good coffee provided. Printed out our Ryanair tickets which saved money. Fair price on ride to airport, safe and reliable. Had a wonderful experience in Morocco. Thank you!

We've chose this Riad as is our first holiday in Morocco so me and my partner want to enjoy the moroccan experience and I'm so glad we did. It is down on a quiet little street and is beautiful inside and has a lovely roof terrace.We stayed 2 nights and Mbarack couldn't have been more helpful. He is speaking excellent English(and many more:Italian,Spanish and many more)this guy is a treasure to this place very friendly,helpfully,best costumer service in Morocco!He give us good hints about other cities that were in our tour plan and help us to book a private tour to Sahara Desert!Lovely guy!The room was clean and the shower was good with plenty of hot water. for Based on our experience would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again if we return,if Mbarak is still there:)!

This was the best experience I've had in Morocco. When in Fez, THIS is the place to stay at. I can't praise enough about Ahmed's hospitality. He was most helpful, friendly and professional from the very beginning. It might be a little challenging to find this place at the first time - so don't forget to call ahead of time and Ahmed will meet you at the taxi stand/square. Once you've gotten used to climbing the steps and finding your way, this riad is really one of the best I've stayed at. Ahmed and his sons are the best managers I've met. They were quick to help us with our heavy luggages, not just from outside the medina to the riad, but also up the steep stairs within the riad building. Our room was at the top floor adjacent to the rooftop patio which looked out to an amazing view of Fez. I have only two phrases for this place - NO REGRETS and WILL BE BACK, when I'm in Fez. Thank you for the wonderful experience! One of the best I've had on Agoda and in Morocco!

This is one of the best places I have ever stayed, it is absolutely beautiful everywhere you look. The staff are helpful, extremely kind and make you feel relaxed and as if it is your home. The food was by far the best food we tried in Fes, we were lucky enough to meet and dine with the owners who were very welcoming, shared incredible stories, gave lots of help and advice. The roof terrace is beautiful looking out on to the entire medina. The location is also great as it takes you straight into the souks of the medina. My only regret is that we did not stay longer, thank you dar seffarine for such a wonderful experience, it completely made our trip!

The receptionist who checked us in and showed us to our room was very nice. We were lost in the city and couldn't find the way to the hotel, when we called the hotel they came for us immediately, they took care of our luggages. Even that we came late, they served us a very good dinner. The man who worked there, Junior, was very helpful, giving us the advices what to visit,the service was beyond impeccable, the dinner in the hotel was delicious, the room was nice and spacious. The hotel is very clear. The breakfast was perfect and the woman served us the mint tea during the day. We had a perfect stay in this hotel. After this hotel (because it was fulled for next day) we stayed in other riad Dar Said (Fes) that was pretented (as they told) to be as a 5 stars hotel and it was nothing to do with the marvellous Dar Bensouda. The service was for 3 stars and it was more expensive, when in Dar Bensouda the service is like in 5 stars hotel and it was less expensive.Dar Bensouda is a quiet hotel with personnal approach to every guest, very nice staff and we had a very nice séjour there!

Pros are location and there is a restaurant on site a gym and an outdoor pool and bar. The bed and room were comfortable. The restaurant had nice decor as did the lobby area. Cons are despite being 4 star spa staff cannot speak English properly; lifts are really slow; there are no irons available and staff are entirely unapologetic about this; food was not particularly good for the price and sauna was at additional cost which was expensive for what it was in comparison to others in Morocco. Despite booking room for two as a couple the room was twin with two beds next to each other. As a seasoned traveller I would not rate the hotel as a true 4 star and overall would not recommend the hotel if you want a 4 star experience.

Riad with a luxurious feel, so beautiully decorated. This was my favorite riad during our time in morocco. The showers had amazing water pressure and had plentiful hot water (very important during the winter!). Mary was not as helpful as some of the other riad hosts with respect to her knowledge of Morocco and English, but she was very nice and respectful! Great breakfast.

The place is bautiful and clean. Location is good, around 10 minutes walk to the Blue Gate (with budget restaurants) and taxis and stop right in front of the hotel. The staff and the owner/manager, which is the best part of our stay, gave us a map and introduced us to the Medina. They also recommended and arranged Hammam massage, local tour guide, and a dinner for us which turned out to be great experiences. Breakfast is also great with good variety and quantity we could never eat them all.

Riad Le Calife was our FAVORITE riad in our 10 day trip through Morocco. The attention to detail and the design of the hotel was amazing! We loved the owner, Fatima - this riad truly seems to be a labor of love! The location is ideal - a great place to return to after the craziness of Fes. All of the staff is very helpful. We stayed in the Amethyst room, and loved it - it was a good size room. Breakfast on the rooftop was wonderful. Would love to go back one day ....

The staff were very accommodating, will help arrange a ride from airport 15euro taxi & be ready to have some 20 dirhams to Pay the guy who will haul your luggage to the hotel since the road is so rugged & dusty. Exchange money at the airport as most stores accepts dirhams only , a few accepts euro. We hired a taxi to give us a tour for 2 hours for 200 DH and it's worth it. A amazing experience. Our breakfast is like a feast fit for a King & Queen & is included in our booking.

I can't express how much we enjoyed the Riad Anata. The place is of course extremely beautiful and done well but I must praise especially the team who looked after us. Mustafa and Samira were incredibly gracious, accommodating and all around lovely people. I travel all the time for work and rarely have I experienced so charming hospitality. We were made to feel like family and extremely well looked after. The riad's small staff of two went above and beyond the call of duty making Fes - at sometimes a disorienting place - extremely navigable. From coordinating laundry and alterations for a suit, to hosting a dozen friends on the charming roof of the riad to coordinating with other hotels and guides, there was really nothing he wouldn't do to make our stay in Fes more enjoyable. I was in town for a wedding with friends staying at most of the major hotels in the city from the cheap to the luxurious and would recommend for the Riad Anata over any of them.
