Cusco hotels & places to stay

I booked the same hostel for 2 nights after my Machu Picchu adventure. I didn't stay here but left my bag since I took a night bus to and from Puno (I booked a day tour at Lake Titicaca. I was surprised that my bed was given to another backpacker when I came back from Puno. The staff immediately gave me another bed as a replacement. Good job! Will definitely book again when I go back to Cusco.

I booked female dormitory - because as I researched this is the only hostel which has female dorm, however they try to give me a mixed dorm and they said female form is full (a guy who can say only spanish) I asked other one who can speak English - A english can speaking guy says they are not offer female dorms few month ago, all rooms are now mixed. So I said "Ok then I cannot pay you full. You shouldnt get a booking with fake" Then a miracle happens, they have a female dorm - with 3 beds are left out of 6. I still do not understand why they try to give me a mixed dorm. I would like to pay in USD 12(the room charge was 11.28) and they didnt give me back 0.62cents which is in abt 2.16 sols. full of liars and scams hope they become rich with 2.16sols.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We stayed in a private room and it was better than a hotel. The atmosphere was fantastic! The hostel is one of the main tour booking sites in town and they are very knowledgable about the adventure opportunities in Cusco. The hostel can be a little noisy at night as there is a bar on site, but nothing ear plugs can't fix for a good night's sleep. Overall, I would definitely recommend Kokopelli hostel, for the experience, comfort, hot showers and staff.

Great little hostel well located in Cusco. They offer free activities and highly recommend the free walking tour with Christian! It was very informative. Room was nice and clean, but they did not empty our garbage or refill toilet paper once during the night stay, we had to ask. The room doors and windows give to the hostel court yard which is a problem cause you can hear everything thru the window, they don't enforce a noise policy so we found ourself unable to sleep the night before our 5 day trek because 2 people were talking loudly till a little past midnight.

The owner who received me was very endearing. She was very welcoming despite my late-night arrival and despite its inconspicuous facade, the owner made sure I find my way. The room was clean and at par with budget rooms I've been to. The walls at the reception area have photos of grateful guests for reason I understandably felt when I was there. You'd never expect such warm hospitality in a small hostel such as Hospedaje Pumacurco. Refreshing experience indeed!

I booked the twins room with private bathroom, but the private bathroom which is not in my room. I have to pass the public area to my PRIVATE bathroom. And the last nite , there is no any hot water in my bathroom. The staff explained because the hot water tank is shared by my bathroom and another bath room. Thus other guest may use up all the hot water for bathing :( But for the compensation of running out hot water, the staff reduce the rent of the room

On our trip to Machupichu we found this gem of a hotel in Cusco. They provided a generous 11:30am checkin time so we left our luggage in our room and toured the Inca sites of the city. The free breakfast each morning was different but incuded egg omlets, fruit, yogurt, bread, cereal, chocolate milk, tea, crackers, and cold cuts. When we left for Machupichu the staff offered to store our luggage free for the day which allowed us to take a light backpack to Machupicchu. They spoke English and were amazingly helpful. Because the hotel is not on the main square it's quiet and we had a good sleep each night. Before going out to see the city we were able to fill our water bottles at the hotel because they have unlimited free water refills, saving us money, time and plastic bottles. Overall this is an amazing hotel for the price we paid.

We are only need a place for place our luggage for 6 hours and having a bath before heading to get on the night bus from Cuzco to Bolivia. When we ask Vanessa help to call a taxi to downtown buy night bus ticket, something and having our late lunch. she ask one of the staff drive us to (Only charge us reasonable 1 way fare) and she also get on the car and try her best in English to introduce us which bus company is best and told us when we back find what kind of taxi will be best. She also leave her whatsapp to us and ask us seek her if any need for help. Very good of the service, she give us a warmest in Peru.

Very close to minivans to Ollantaytambo and a Peru Rail office where you'll need to go to pick up your tickets. Google maps lists it as "Aventura Peru 4X4" and we were looking for the office at Plaza Mayor, but walked by this place and it had a Peru Rail sign. Lucky us. Augusto was the front desk clerk most of the time and he prepared coca tea for us the night we got there and enough for next day. We put it in our drinking bottles. He was very nice and helpful. The bad part was that when we checked in we paid for the 2 nights and didn't get a receipt from the women who were at the front desk, then when we were checking out Augusto said that there was a paper saying that we owed the 2nd night. Of course I complained and he said he'd call to check and immediately said it had been a mistake. Also, they don't give any toiletries; only soap and no bath mat. Make sure that you always have thin flip flops when you travel anyway. And the entrance is to the right (uphill) from the restaurant.

This is without a doubt the most beautiful hostel I stayed at. The main room has a nice tiled floor, a glass roof that lets in the sun and heat (important in cold Cusco), and plants all around. There is free cocoa tea to drink whenever you want. The only drawback is the rooms are quite small, I barely could leave my suitcase open, but you didn't come to Cuzco to stay in your room! The staff were super helpful in answering all my questions, and one of the receptionist guys was willing to practice my Spanish (and his English) as well. This hostel is located far enough from the Plaza de Armas to avoid all the riffraff that hangs out there, but close enough to go there easily. There are nearby cheap restaurants and if you want better, the Plaza should do it. Laundry service is around the block, as well as a grocery store for whatever you might need.

The hotel was comfortable and had hot showers. The staff welcomed us with mugs of coca leaf tea to help with the altitude sickness. Everything was exceptional except for one upsetting experience. My friends and I went for a night out and I came home early. As my friends were still out, I asked the night time reception guy to let me into my room. He started to make small talk with me on the way up the stairs asking my name and where I was from. Upon unlocking the door he entered my room, didn't turn on the lights, and urged me to join him in the room. I said, "I'm not going into the room until you exit the room." He promptly exited, I entered, turned on the lights and locked all of the locks. Unfortunately, in spite of everything else being excellent, this marred my experience at the hotel, and we booked elsewhere the following day.

From the moment I stepped in to the moment I left, Marco and Ronaldo took amazing care and extended the renowned Peruvian hospitality. From sending my laundry to get done, or booking tours or arranging safe transport at mad hours of day or night, they made sure everything was done right. WiFi was also amazing and the rooms clean and comfortable. It's a very homey atmosphere at Kukuli, and given the chance, I would return. Highly recommended!

We booked 2 days with a view to staying for a week of self catering. We were dissaponited that whilst comprehensive our kitchen was not within our apartment so we never used it and changed our plans. ONE PROBLEM.this property does present is actually finding the place. We found the street number above another property (written on a piece of cardboard) we then went through an alley way which led to the property STILL NO SIGN OUTSIDE had to wander inside and after 15 minutes ringing a few door bells a lady appeared. We have to say once we found her she was more than helpful despite her lack of English. I HOPE SHE READS THIS AND GETS SOME SIGNAGE SORTED? Our apartment was spacious and comfortable if a little dated. For location and value for money would recommend and stay again. Rated food 5 Evan though there was none provided by the property.and value for money 4 purely for kitchen position.
