Where to stay in Cape Town
Cape Town hotels & accommodations

If you want to stay in Cape Town and be close to the city center and the trendy Waterkant and Green Point area and also be in walking distance to the Waterfront and Cape Town Stadium, this is the place to stay. Secure parking is also a plus point as was the rate we had to pay for our stay.

The staff was absolutely wonderful!! They made our stay in Cape Town the most memorable vacation we have ever had, ( we travel) alot. Hlonela and the new girl with the short blond hair went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the BEST, we are forever greatful. From the location, room size and staff we give Icon 5 stars!! We will definitely recommend Icon Luxury ...

Stayed here 6 nights and could not have been happier. Room was modern and well appointed with a great kitchen area. Fresh bread and croissants delivered every morning and the fridge was stocked daily with food, soda, and snacks. It was so great making a little breakfast every morning in the morning! Staff and front desk was amazing! Wifi was fast without any issues. Fa...

The hotel is perfectly located. The decor is beautiful. The staff and service is incredible. The room was spacious and beautifully laid out. All around- this is one of the best places to stay in Cape Town. The beach club and daily shuttle to Camps Bay is an amazing free extra. We loved this hotel! We’ll be back!!

It was just 5 days trip with our friends, and we were afraid of the safety of the area but Lawhill was situated in a very safe area, with security gates and you can only come in and come out with your key. The location at the waterfront, you can take a walk around or run in the morning, it is completely safe area. The apartments were very luxurious, everything was equ...

It luckily happened that we spontaniously made the best hotel choice in Cape Town, as nobody among my friends was to the city before. Everything was beyond expectations - location, staff, rooms, garden, wow breakfast and the ocean views and unforgattable sunsets with whales in the horizon! Thank you all the hotel staff for the exquisite stay! I will definitely be back!...

My third time to Cape Royale and whilst a very enjoyable trip was not as good as previous trips. When I arrived I was to,d the restaurant was closed for refurbishment -being a solo traveller this was disappointing as no one had pre-advised and going out alone at night in Cape town is ill advised. Also I was staying on the 7th floor and the rooftop bar (situated on th...

We stayed three nights and did not leave the hotel, despite it is a great location for a day drive to cape point. The genuinely warm and welcoming team made for a most pleasant and relaxing stay. They were happy to accommodate special requests and were noticeably attuned to the details.

Very impressed with this hotel and can happily recommend to fellow travellers in search of a very nice hotel within decent distance of the V&A Waterfront. The rooms are very spacious, nicely set up and well-stocked with beverages and goodie. This would be an ideal place for multiple night stays, even though we only stayed for one night. There is also a really excellen...

Fantastic hotel in the perfect location of camps bay. Minutes away from bars , restaurants and the odd shop or 2 not much shopping here this is beach and eating at its best. Hotel staff from arrival in between to departure were generous in there help to make your stay fun and spectacular. Check in is quick, welcome glass of wine . Was lucky to get room upgraded to sea ...

We stayed here for 4 nights in December 2018. We were with my in-laws and all of us were very satisfied. My in laws arrived a few days earlier than we did, and they felt that the hotel staff were very helpful in getting them situated in CapeTown. I will say though, that the hotel did not respond to my emails about booking a car to pick us up from the airport, but once...

Just a Wonderful Place with lovely People, Great Food, nice Rooms, nice Pool, amazing sunsets, at s Wonderful Beach! Thank you so much, Future and everybody else! We were so happy there with you. Cape Town Watefront is a 20 Minuten Drive away. With Uber very affordable.

The hotel is located a few blocks from Bo-Kaap, near a hop on/off bus stop going to Table mountain and the other direction takes you to the waterfront. The staff and facilities were absolutely wonderful. The biggest surprise (we booked the suite) was the 3-level loft with full kitchen/ living room/ dining (level 1), the master bedroom (level 2) with larger closet area ...

I came for two nights in cape town for business. The Hotel is well located in the middle of the city with many restaurants and activites near by. The Room confort was really great. BUT there seems to be a management problem, I had booked via a mail to the hotel which I even received confirmation for a Airport pickup.... Nothing was arranged. I arrived at 13:30 in the a...

Location is very practical and felt safe. (You can tell is a nice neighborhood because of the nice cars parked in the street). Very cool restaurants walking distance (Kloof Street House was the coolest for dinner). We booked a back room since I saw some people complained about the noise and it was perfect. An absolute steal for the price. Room was bigger than the avera...

Really nice little apartment in a great part of cape town. Comfy bed, has everything you need and feels secure. I can't comment on the Paragon facilities as it turned out Madison is another building (you still check in at Paragon first) without all of these which Agoda might have made clearer before the stay. The only issue we encountered was there was only one lift a...

Crash pad was perfect for a solo traveller with lots of plans in Cape Town! AMAZING value for money! A bed, full bathroom, and a but of space for a suitcase. Not super tiny (as they imply on their site) but just perfect for someone who literally just needs somewhere to sleep! Tons of common space throughout hotel as well. Whole place is super funky - amazing tile work...

From the moment of arrival, you are aware that this is a very special place. Above all, the management and staff. They go beyond any level of service we have experienced in any 5star hotel in the world. Charming, thoughtful and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The position, high above Camps Bay, provides breath taking views, as well as quiet seclusion. The rooms...

Our room was overlooking the harbour and we enjoyed watching the activities from our nice terrace. The room was bright and large, a nice treat. There were many restaurants within walking distance and we could park our car. The area attractions were easy to reach, Boulders penguin colony and the Cape of Good Hope, both a must. We would recommend this hotel to others, ...

On my first-ever trip to South Africa, I wanted to visit Cape Town based on its beauty in pictures and botany (I have a degree in horticulture and most of the plant species in my home locale are identical to those in Cape Town's Kirstenbosch Gardens). I debated about what part of town to stay in and ultimately decided on Sea Point for the ocean view and to be out of t...

Overall was a great stay with excellent service. The staff are simply helpful and knowledgeable. They make you feel like home and to certain extend the care about you like a family. If I'm in Cape Town again, definitely Parliament Hotel will be my very first choice to stay with.. The room is spacious and spotlessly clean. The bedsheet is very clean too and with daily...

This Boutique hotel in cape town ticks all the boxes. Extremely friendly and hospitable staff ensured our stay was perfect. The rooms were clean, quiet and extremely spacious, the bathroom was enormous and filled with luxurious amenities. The bed was large & comfy which made for an easy nights sleep after a long flight from Sydney. Location was spot on, short drive f...

Didnt spend much time at the hotel but that was because of its proximity to everything you would want to do in Cape Town. The room didnt have much of a view of the beach because it was on the first floor but it was spacious and comfortable. Having the choice to eat at the hotel or do your own catering is a definite plus.
Cheap places to stay in Cape Town

My partner and I enjoyed our stay at a sunflower backpackers for the two out of four days that we were in cape town. The environment at the backpackers was very relaxed and very friendly. Staff was great to us and very helpful. thanks for having us.

From the airport, the best way to go is by taxi as it is nearly the same price as shared transport to this location. It is from 240 to 260 Rand. You can get it prebooked online via bookings @ sport24hrs.co.za which is the service I used back to the airport. I used the service at the arrivals hall counter on the way in, but I think just to the taxi stand might be the...

This place is perfect stay for solo traveler. There's a guy who is very friendly also tell information about Cape Town. Also the manager from this stay seems to have strict regulation about robbery. so i can stay without worrying about missing my things for 4days.

Very clean hostel, with friendly & helpful staff. Situated within walking distance of the V&A Waterfront where there are lots of shops & restaurants. Comfy beds, decent sized ensuite & complimentary towels in the female only dorms. Didn't eat at the Randy Warthog restaurant but it was always busy so that's a good sign of the place! Would definitely stay here again if b...

Once again, Urban Hive wow!! After allowing myself and a colleague to book for a few days at this well known establishment we met with hostility from the infamous Ronny!! Are staff members entitled to have personal attitudes, vendettas or allowed to discriminate? Ronny seems to have all of the aforementioned qualities and seems to have absolute power to enforce as and ...

The room was not ensuite like i thought. The beddings seemed a bit too worn out. And the towels provided didnt look very tidy. I did not use the hotel eventually. After seeing the place i moved out and made other arrangements. I was very disappointed.

This venue is one of the best backpackers lodges I've stayed at in South Africa. It has a big lounge area, a long table where I comfortably worked on my laptop, and also sofa for relaxing and watching the big screen TV. The wifi is slow but consistant throughout the venue. The staff was friendly and discreet and I will stay there again because the location is very conv...

Pros: staff, location, food, rooftop bar and social area Cons: you have to eventually leave Excellent hostel with a very kind and friendly staff. Zozo made my trip 10/10 and was great with suggestions and helping me get the most out of my time in Cape Town. She is the secret to success for your stay. Laddy is a great bartender who always has a smile on his face. Linto...

We spent a week here in the tent which is VERY roomy. The only negative is the lack of electricity which we thought wouldn't be a problem. It isn't, but does get very dark in there and you can't leave anything to be charged. It was very comfortable though. The breakfast is amazing, the staff are friendly and helpful and there are plenty of places to chill and hang out....

the location of the hostel is excellent, right at hout bay almost opposite to the marina. all in all good place except 1: the toilet is in the room, and i mean literally in it, just seperated with aluminum door and glass. parts of the glass are transparent, so people in the room can hear AND see inside the toilet, not sure whos idea was that or how it never changed 2 i...

A friend recommended this place (he was with us). The location was great. A short walk to the MyCiti bus stop and also close to Kloof street, Company Gardens and Long street. The lodge is quite big with a few great common areas to chill after a long day (the pool, balcony and a bar). I like that the bar closes at a certain time out of respect for people that are sleepi...

We stayed 1 night at Wish U were here. The staff are top notch - very friendly and helpful and they accommodated us for an early check in. The location is very central, quick and easy to travel about in Cape Town. The decor of Wish U were Here is beautifully done. Rooms are specious and clean. Breakfast was tasty. Will definitely stay there again.

Tuckaway was an excellent stay. The facilities and the friendly tone of the hosts really made it pleasant and exceeded any expectations that we had. The room was very spacious and well furnished with a beautiful garden and views of the mountain landscape around Capetown.

I stayed with Navine for about 5 weeks in January/March 2015 and had no complaints. Navine is a very welcoming host, well educated, helpful and supportive to the community. The single rooms and the kitchen are downstairs the owner Navine lives upstairs. There is a lounge with tv upstairs which can be freely used. The property is well secured the rooms are spotless and ...

The actual facility was nothing like the attractive online pictures. Our party of 3 was elderly and one of us was expected to get onto the top bunk without a ladder. We were thus put into 2 compartments. The unlit reception bar and snooker rooms were darkly unappealing with a staff comment saying lights would be switched on at 7:30pm. Generally the place needs repairi...

The hotel is right in the main lane of cape town where all the bars are located. Not a place for someone who likes quite and relax time. It is botique hotel and is designed really well. The rooms are bit small but the beds are comfy. Everything was spotless clean and the staff is amazing. Check their website for different room types as you might either love the room or...

Our double ensuite was in a lovely historical house at Union St, about 50m from the main backpackers lodge. It was spacious and had a beautiful old stained-glass door and fireplace. Don't think all the rooms are the same tho. Close to Kloof St with lots of cafes, restaurants and other amenities, also within walking distance to the main drag on Long St. The staff at the...

Small apartment style accomodation on residential street. We chose this for location- it's about 2 blocks away from checkers or spar- one of the big supermarkets. But we also chose this for its 24 hr front desk as advertised- however it is false advertising since the front desk was only open about 12 hours a day- from about 8 am to 8 PM. After hours supposedly there's...

Simply the best value I have encountered in my 16 trips to Cape Town. Hotels at 3 times the price have about the same amenities but do not have the diligent staff assembled at The Premier Cape Manor. Good breakfast, good bar, nice patio, the sound of the sea pounding at night, excellent beds, perfect location.

I would recommend any person anytime to stay in the apartments . i really loved the setup . i only had one small problem . i would have loved that when booking being advised that i have to collect the key from a different place . than get to a place then you have to go collect the key . that's the only small problem i encountered but i loved the way my situation was ha...

We really enjoyed our stay here at Rockwell all suite hotel. Everything is readily available with very accommodating and helpful staffs. The rooms are big, neat, well-maintained. Because we enjoyed it here so much, we even cancelled our reservation in one of the hotels at the v&a waterfront and extended our stay here at the Rockwell. We recommend this to everyone who i...

Attention to detail at this fabulous hotel is second to none. The staff were all particularly friendly and extremely helpful with tips and information for making the most of Cape Town. It was a little difficult to find the car park. Its entrance is on the street above the hotel, not the street that the actual hotel is on, but we found it after a phone call to the re...

This hotel really hit the mark for me on many levels. Being in a historic building in Cape Town with an Airstream trailer park on the roof it's funky with a lot of character. The rooms were clean and modern, the staff was helpful, and the breakfast was very good. It is right in the heart of the central business district and convenient. The staff were courteous, well-tr...

Get in contact with the contact person at least 30 minutes before you reach to get the keys- else you might find yourself like lost.. once you have the keys- the most difficult part is done. We stayed in room 211 at Savina- the Island Club- marvelous, fully furnished apart, secured, right next to the Canal Walk. Highly recommendable.

Staff efficient and friendly. Rooms clean with comfy beds. Great roomy showers with plenty hot water despite a severe water shortage in Cape Town whilst there.Good breakfast choice and happy to mixnmatch your requests! Bang on central for eating places and booking centre for bus tours , walking tours etc. Amity shop at booking centre a must brouse round. Also coffee s...

We stayed three nights and did not leave the hotel, despite it is a great location for a day drive to cape point. The genuinely warm and welcoming team made for a most pleasant and relaxing stay. They were happy to accommodate special requests and were noticeably attuned to the details.

Undiscovered gem well located in CapeTown. Can walk to the V&A Waterfront., Central downtown area and real grocery store (Pic&Pay) just a few blocks away on Strand.. Spotlessly clean. It's classic luxury with a modern twist. The exquisite painting-like wallpaper, industrial accessories styled like art installations on each floor, and grand furniture make you feel presidential. The concierge is some of the best we've ever dealt with. Absolutely brilliant. The rooms include toiletries you wouldn't normally expect, such as fabric wash and shaving cream...

I really enjoy staying at this hotel in the FIFA Worldcup moment in Cape Town. The hotel was great in everyway including their service and location. I recommend everyone who wants to have a great time in Cape Town just come to stay here. As the Agoda rate is very special and worth to pay!

The Queen Victoria offers you to enjoy teh Waterfront development in Cape Town on a walking distance, that is reataurants, bars, shopping, the jetty to leave for Robben island or beach road for some sundowners, although "cool modern" the small scale and set up of the hotel and personalized and dedicated approach by staff made this teh perfect location to conclude our s...

Our stay at the Hilton in Cape Town was awesome! I would recommend booking an airport transfer and asking specifically for Brendan. He was so courteous and gave us an impromptu tour of the city on the drive to the hotel. All of the other staff we engaged with were equally friendly - including Namsa at the front desk and the whole concierge team. The room was very wel...

I travel extensively for work and pleasure, typically staying at 4-5 star venues. The 12 Apostles is rated as a 5 star however I would list it as a 5 star +. The staff treat guests like they're on a silversea or Seabourn cruise with any wish instantly attended to. The dining experience, wine and service were all fantastic. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite with ocean vie...

This small hotel is beautiful, the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming, friendly or helpful. We had a delightful stay, that we wish we could have extended. Breakfast was varied and delicious. We only used the place for sleeping as we were out and about. It is 2 blocks from the strip and beach which is perfect. It has all the facilities for dining, cooking etc - we just didn't use them. It was clean and comfortable. The TV is old and very few stations so night time wind down with a TV is not the best.

Fantastic guest house with wonderful staff - Sally was a great host happy to share her extensive knowledge of Cape Town with us. The suites and bathrooms were lovely and the outside areas really well maintained. Restaurants were booked ahead and all were first class. Charming Hotel with all the amenities you could ask for. Quiet and peaceful with nice rooms and attentive staff. Their restaurants are exceptional. If you want to dine at the Greenhouse it is recommended that you book when you book your rooms to stay. The food at Greenhouse was exceptional and is rated amongst the top ten restaurants in South Africa. They also have go...

Everything was perfect (with maybe one exception- slow and inconsistent internet access). From Ivanda to Angelica, to Lee, the GM, every staff member made us their priority. Wonderful home like stay in a beautiful boutique hotel. Highlight of every day was the included breakfast, which offered everything from amazingly fresh fruit and pastries to home cooked eggs B...

Beautiful, private, relaxing. Enjoyed my spa room with access to sauna and steam room. Private pool (shared with one other room) with amazing views. Beautiful ground and private art collection to enjoy. Sunset cocktails and dinner were wonderful. Would stay again for sure.

We decided staying at the VIP Cape Lodge due to the close location to our friend who lives in Capetown. It is located about 2-4km from Table mountain. It took us about 20min. walking downhill to get into town. There are many different restaurants and bars around the area. The room we stayed in had a separate kitchen area, which provided us with more space. The bedroo...

We spent our first two nights at a highly rated hotel in the Cape Town Waterfront. It felt sterile and touristy. The Abbey Manor is located in one of the lovely residential areas, and immediately felt welcoming and authentic. The breakfast was very good and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. On top of that, it was a great value! Highly recommend!

I came with my mum for a holiday. I had to change dates and the hotel were amazing as I contacted them directly. The staff are fantastic and couldn't do enough for you. They are friendly yet professional. I can't rate highly enough this hotel. It is immaculate and a 5 star for cleanliness. Can't wait to come back. Thank you.

First visit to Cape Town and I was not disappointed. The people are very friendly. Visited all the usual attractions.
One of my favorite cities in the world, easy to navigate, people are friendly and the dollar being so strong to the Rand meant dining out, cabs and everything was quite cheap.
A wonderful surprise. It's a place that after you visit it once, and want to return to again and again.
Rent a car or go on a tour of the wine lands and all the beautiful mountain passes around cape town
I'm from Sydney, and love Cape town, its beautiful, the waterfront is utilised for it's residents and not left only to industry.
Love the sity, its clean and visible policing which creats a safe feeling. It has alot to offer the visitor from beaches to shopping and sightseeing.
Amazing place! Ther is so much to do, so much beauty, and so much fun. What a great city. I would love to live here.
Cape Town presents an immense variety of sightseeing, cultural activities, dining and wine farms. It is impossible to fit in a worthwhile component of possible activities into les than 3 days.
Easy to walk around the central area where most museums are situated. Drive around the cape peninsula is spectacular.
One of the most beautiful cities in the world - it has everything: good food, excellent infrastructure, good telecommunications, superb hotels, nice people, great wine, excellent sightseeing.
Excellent place to spend a week. You can use Cape Town as your base and travel outside the city easily.

Cape Town is a fantastically beautiful city and has much natural beauty to explore during the day. However night time options were limited and we were constantly advised not to walk around, even the 50m from a restaurant to a bar in De Waterkant.
Really wonderful place. Comfortable climate, delicious local food and wine, sightseeing, wild animals, people.
For shopping there is the Waterfront or V&A Mall with great Restaurants from the ordinary to the Superb.

Staying in the city is a good base camp for all the highlights in and around the city; if you enjoy evening entertainment you are not far from some good restaurants; theatre or you can walk down to the foreshore and hop on a boat to the waterfront where you can go to the Robben Island Museum or take a boat trip round the harbour or visit the oceanarium; you will never run out of things to do in this magnificent city; I also noted the city has good security and has been cleaned up;
