Aomori hotels & places to stay

Standard chain hotel in Japan. Good value, clean but very small. Do note that the hotel does provide parking but there are very few lots (approx. 6-7 only). Hence if there aren't any more guest lots, you would have to pay for parking located about 150m away. Do note there are 2 APA hotels in Aomori. This one is further away from the train station. We made a mistake and first went to the one nearer the train station. I do not recommend staying at that APA hotel if you have a lot of luggage. There is a huge staircase at the entrance of the APA hotel nearer to the train station. That hotel has even less parking too! Just 2 lots for guests.

The room I booked was clean and pretty spacious. Bed is comfortable but in-room amenities provided was just all the very basic stuff (dislike the toothbrush which is soooo hard). While the bathroom some how have some leak while you bath or use the basin. Also, it seems like the towels or yukatas are not properly cleaned cause I noticed 1or 2 strands of hair attaching to it still. Laundry is coin operated with 300yen per washing and 100yen per drying. The washing machine capacity is a bit small with only 4.5kg allowed, no detergents provided. Location is not the best but still can consider as good cause it's just within walking distance (about 10-15 minutes) to the town, Aomori station or to the port. Lobby is at the 4th floor and the lift will stopped at 4th floor automatically no matter you are going upwards or downwards though. Staff are very friendly and polite. In room TV services have to be bought separately. There is a combini at the ground floor and opposite the street (7-11).

Hotel convenient to Aomori Station, Nebuta Museum, A Factoy, Aomori Bridge. Walking distance and super easy to find. Room was nice and bright, clean for the most part. View of bridge was nice. But when you open the shades to the window (even though the window itself was closed), it became pretty cold! Bathroom was okay. Needs a little updating. For the price I can't complain. The stars for facilities is not accurate. I didn't use anything so I don't know. But this review made me rate it

Our family of 4 spent 5nights in this hotel. No complaints, everyone was satisfied. Spacious room, Big bathtub, good amenities and clean. Their service is one of the best among the japan hotels i had stayed. Tho they do not speak good English but they will try their best to answer our questions. To the extend of searching online, calling to check and providing us with a few options or alternatives. Breakfast was simple, fresh and tasty. Lawson and few restaurants/cafe below (beside) the hotel. Complimentary parking and we were nearby to most attractions. Would definitely stay in Richmond hotel if we are back in Aomori!

We stayed at Art Hotel Color Aomori for 2 nights from 5th Nov to 7th Nov. The hotel location is not too far and at walkable distance from Aomori JR train station. Staffs were nice and checkin and checkout procedure were fast and smooth. They even gave us a free postcard when we checkedin. The bed was comfortable and the room was cozy. Wifi was fast but disconnected from time to time. The only downside of it was that the aircon/heater temperature was central operated so we couldn't adjust the room temperature ourself. We used the coin-operated washing machine and dryer at the hotel, which only had Japanese instruction but we did managed to get it working! Overall, we were happy with the hotel for the price we paid for.

I was in a rush to Hokkaido. So, Sunroute Aomori Hotel was the hotel for the night and I had to catch on the morning train. A small room (10m sq) but it has all the things you need from fridge to internet. AC is working great. There is a Lawson convenient store just across the street. Location is okay considering that only 5 mins walk but a bit hard to find at the first time. Staff is helpful and polite. Overall, it was a nice stay at there.

I always enjoy staing at Hotel Route Inns in Japan. There are not all in the same state of maintenance, but ususally you are guaranteed three things: a good standard Japanese hotel room, a communal spa to enjoy the tradional hot o'furo and a good buffet breakfast. The Aomori Hotel Route Inn didn't disappoint. In addition, the location was excellent as the fish market, festival museum, tourism information office and main railway and bus station where just a few metres away. The staff was efficient and friendly. I would recommend this hotel as it represents excellent value for money in a great location.

Excellent location. Front desk consisted of one experienced staff and one trainee. Trainee had charged my card on check-in and called my room in the evening again to say I had not paid. I tried explaining to him that he charged me once already, but he did not understand any English. He proceeded to charge my card again. The next morning, he realized he had double charged and significantly delayed the check-out process as he needed to process a charge-back. Because he did not process the refund in the same currency, I now have an over charge on my credit card for the FX difference. No apology was made. Service was not up to par in accordance with typical Japanese standards.

First, it's not a piece of cake walk from Aomori station.(the station itself is cute, its little details) Taking bus might be useful, you might want to learn more about Aomori bus, there is bus stop near the hotel and it's a very convenient mode of transportation here. Along Shin-machi Dori(Road) is many cute little shops for killing bores.(not to the point of being shopping district) One of this is Beny Mart, local supermarket, which I discover this Maccha Crunch brand that tastes so divine and can't be found anywhere else, I mean it. I can't think of anything that I wanted and the room facilities did not include. They even have smell-eliminitaing spray provided for you. Staffs are afraid of English but they do try, you can ask them for bus map. Overall, very very nice room for this price tag, friendly staff, around the hotel isn't boring.

Great location. Just outside Aomori station (the station only has 1 exit so your can't miss it), the hotel is behind the Sunroute Hotel Aomori. Toyoko Inn is a business hotel chain that you can see in almost any city in Japan. While the space is a bit constricted, it is still comfortable enough. Nearby are the A-Factory (where you can buy Aomori apples and other apple products... I mean the fruit, not the company). There is also a nearby museum (Nebuta House). Beside Aomori station is the Lovina mall which has a supermarket, Starbucks coffee and Muji, among others, for all your needs. One con was the check in time is at 4:00 PM. You cannot go to your room before that, even if the room is available. There was a group of travelers who pleaded with the front desk to accommodate them already as they traveled the whole day from their home country to Aomori. They were elderly women and looked really worn. The front desk still refused to give them the keys. I hope that they can also try to be understanding of the situation.

The house is very clean, warm and has a washing machine. It took us only 3 min, with 3 big luggage, to get the house from the Aomori train station. Very convenient for moving to Hakodate and to Tokyo by train. The owner was very very kind. She recommended us an excellent restaurant located very near the house. We had dinner there twice and it was the best restaurant (both for food quality and value for money) during our 2-week stay in Japan. 5 min walk to Aomori market for (dried and fresh) seafood shopping.

The Daiwa Roynet stands out as a dark monolith, quite hard to miss - just follow the covered footpath, if you are coming from the station (5-10 min). Opened in September 2018 it is the newest of Aomori hotels. French windows (which cannot be opened) gives a super view on the city centre, the bathroom is not one of these plastic cubical bathroom which you find in many business hotels (of the 90s and later). Breakfast is served in the restaurant on groundfloor - the buffet is sufficient, great coffee from the barrister but lacks fresh fruit (and seafood). There is a Lawson next to the entrance (as the lobby is on first floor). Opposite is a department store and a book shop. I enjoyed my stay, would come again.
