Where to stay in Christchurch Central City
Christchurch Central City hotels & accommodations

Hotel 115 is located in the center of city, 3 minutes away from a pedestrian area full of restaurants and cafes and has everything you need at a good price. The hotel is unique because it’s is part of a restoration project of Christchurch heritage light-rail. Basically, the hotel building is the old city light rail deposit, now converted to a covered shopping area with...

Located in Christchurch Central area. 20mins shuttle bus from the airport. Just tell the driver they can get you right in front of the apartment. Just stayed a night in Southwark Apartment. Cozy and clean. Everything is good except the reception called me at 2am, asked me to move my car, however I don’t have a car with me.They called the wrong room number.

Conveniently located at the edge of central city while you can manage to avoid the slow traffic there to get around. Also convenient for non-drivers as the airport bus stops not far away. Some may find the occasional traffic overnight outside an issue but it shouldn't be an essential concern.

Right in the middle of downtown Christchurch. Walking distance to food, shopping, city sightseeing and car rentals. Room is comfortable although the toilet basin is very small. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Breakfast is average for a 4-star hotel. But it should have some variety because I stayed here twice with a 12-day break in between and the breakfast food is ex...

the motel staff is very friendly, he gives directions and ideas on where to get a good restaurant. our room has no kitchenette, and he actually change it for us so that we can cook our own food. the motel is very near to christchurch central( which has blocked the access now), to botanic garden(ard20 mins) and casino(less than 10 mins). the room is very clean and big. ...

I'd stayed in a few places already between Christchurch and dunedin and this was the first place that looked like it's advertised pictures. It was clean fresh and kept well. The other places were tired and worn out and needed decorating. So this was just lovely to spend my last couple of days in Christchurch in.

Stay was perfect, great value for money, lovely rooms and fantastic staff. We were so pleased with the hotel we returned for our last night of stay on our NZ holiday! The only downside was the lack of free parking however I think this is common among most hotels in Christchurch city centre and a cheap alternative was available beside the hotel. Overall, I can't recomme...

Situated close to the heart of Christchurch, the Orari bed and breakfast is a converted Victorian era mansion, set in a mature garden of the same era. It has the advantage of being close to a restaurant area and parks but avoids the noise of central city hotelsIt is furnished along these lines with magnificent furniture and decor in the public areas such as the breakf...

Staff are great, very helpful and friendly. Location is good, have a parking lot in front of apartment. Full facilities in apartment, heater, air con with heater function, hair dryer, clean towel, TV x 2 & full kitchenette. Very convenient to go to central city. Daily shop next door and cafe next street. The bed is very cozy and I love their bath tub.

This is one of the best hotel we stayed while we in South Island. We booked the 2 bedrooms suite which was very large and well-equipped facilities. There are TV in all rooms and provided the bed in the living room which my kids love it so much. Highly recommended hotel to stay in Christchurch.

We stayed one night and slept very well. Good kitchen and lounge area. Bathrooms everywhere but I always came to them when they were full, which was strange but walk to another corridor and success! Christchurch is still going through a fair bit of change but easy enough to walk around, 10-15min to worldwide. 10min to bus station to airport if you don't go the wrong wa...

Stayed for 2 nights at the hotel, with my husband and parents. The location is very near to Christchurch main streets, CBD and next to Christchurch Casino. If you're hungry at night, you can always walk to the casino for late dim sum 😊. I booked 2 bedroom unit, it was spacious. The bedrooms are spacious. The master bedroom has ensuite bathroom, and the other bedro...

To be honest, this motel is already on my top list now, I will stay here for anytime that I need an accommodation in Christchurch. Me, my husband and my dog juz enjoyed it so much here, room was clean, shower got over expecting pressure, and service was exceptionally good, it's juz feel like home. We left with a big smiles on our face🐶👧🏻👨

Hotel is new. Hotel room is spacious and has mini-kitchen complete with cooking utensils, plates and cutlery, induction stove, dishwasher, microwave and mini-fridge. Even the bathroom has washing machine and dryer. Hotel is located near walking distance to Christchurch Central, providing easy access to supermarkets, tour sites and bus interchange. Good wifi connection....

Christchurch is an interesting town with a nice Botanical Garden, the Canterbury Museum and the Tram and there are also few other things to do. Travellers should, however, check Google for "Christchurch" and "Earth Quake 2011" before going there, so that they know what to expect. The YMCA is good value for money and one can book either full rooms or beds in shared room...

We stayed in City Centre Motel at the start and the end of our 2 week road trip around South Island. The second night was booked a few days prior to returning back to Christchurch after making some last minute change to skip Arthur's Pass and to spend another night in Christchurch. Which is a good decision as we could spend more time to explore a few shopping areas in ...

We traveled from Auckland to Christchurch over the course of 18 nights in late September to early October 2019 and this accommodation was the BEST we experienced! The location is walk-able to CBD and major "go to" spots in Christchurch, super friendly staff, the bed was SO comfy and the room generously spacious and well appointed . Do not hesitate to stay at the Gran...

Good, Modern motel apartment style close to Christchurch city centre. our room has a kitchen cabinet with basic utensils. One of the best feature is washing machine and dryer in the room. I book this place because of the laundry facility provided in the room. It is most convenient when you travel with young children. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. The owner / m...

Love the place. Apart from expecting to be in ground floor because we have one big suitcause, we loved the stay. The self contained studio is comfortable, complete with anything we needed, best of all it's clean and well looked after. I stayed in lower ground back in November and remember received good Wifi signal. This time around the Wifi signal was not very good...

We arrived very late and were pleased that the hotel was only fifteen minutes drive from Christchurch airport, our two large two bedroom rooms with divans accommodated all ten very comfortably and at a very reasonable price. The next morning the staff went out of their way to help us out. Would definitely recommend as the rooms were very nice and very clean.

Stay was great, helpful and friendly staff, able to leave our bags there until later in the day. A little out from the centre of Christchurch but only took about 15 minutes to walk to Cathedral Square. A couple of bowls for use in the microwave would have been useful.

Its about a 20-25min drive from Christchurch International Airport and conveniently located near the central city area. Very well equipped place, spacious and clean. We arrived late at night and were a bit noisy, sorry about that. But staff was really nice to have directed us to our room during such hours. She also helped us to check on the road conditions for our rout...

The family who run this place were SO friendly and keen to help out. The female dorm was spacious and had its own kitchen (as well as the main backpacker’s one) and bathroom. The WiFi is via voucher, but they’ll give you more than one if you need it. I’d stay here again if I was in Christchurch, as quite centrally located and the owners were so sweet.

This motel is exactly as described on the agoda site. The location is ideal for those with a car; it's a good 10-15 minute walk to what's left of poor Christchurch's downtown and not a confortable walk (at least at night) from the railway station which is how I arrived. The large Hagley Park immediately opposite would be an advantage for those wanting to jog or air o...

We were guided by one of our friends that staying in Christchurch was a waste of time, if you have vacation and holiday in mind. However, we decided to stay overnight at Christchurch to relax and prepare ourselves for next day 7 Hr. drive to Queenstown. We zeroed down on Bella Vista Motel for our stay as it is a fairly well known motel chain in NZ with presence in alm...

The hotel was perfectly located in the city centre. The nearest (and probably cheapest) supermarket in town is just 5-minutes drive away from the hotel. The room and the beds were quite clean and rather comfortable. Shower is working great. Honestly, at such a good price it is a perfect budget accommodation. It would have been perfect if only the kitchen utensils, cu...

The place was spotless clean and had a comfortable snooze. It was near enough to walk to the city 15 mins or so but because we had a toddler wasn't convenient for us to do so. Very friendly service with a lot of good reccomendations from the check in counter.

The room came cheap booking through Agoda, however the room was far better than our expectations. The owner looked to be Korean and really had the rooms in great order. Everything was clean and tidy and for a cold city it was great to have heaters and electric blankets. Another big plus was that wireless internet was provided free of charge and all you could use. Although its a little too far from the centre of christchurch there are really no complaints as we paid less than $90 for a night. Gary - duty manager rude Internet issues, kept logging off devices and then we couldn’t reconnect. This was our splurge to stay at a luxury hotel during Christmas, and our experience was wonderful. The room was clean, cozy and furnishings were beautiful.
