Where to stay in Candidasa
Candidasa hotels & accommodations

I rented a villa and it is exactly like the pictures, beautiful and serene. They bring you tea everyday in the afternoon and pamper you a little everyday. Plus you get a free 90 minute welcome massage (very nice) The ocean view is a bit of a stretch for some of the villas (if you crane your neck) and as a whole the villas are a little further from the water than expect...

Beautiful old dame. She’s showing some wear and tear but the gardens and the staff fully make up for it. You can swim out the front which you cannot do With most hotels in Candidasa. No barking dogs and no motorbikes. Very quiet at night. Very safe. I’ll be back.

We found it a great value for money place, Quiet place right next to the water and a pool that big enough to swim. The rooms are big enough compare to the small hotel rooms, big toilet and show room with sink, TV , safe, fridge- little bar and AC , 3 star decent place !!! The bungalows are surrounded by the palms and you feel kind of in the jungle. Very quiet, family...

My wife and I stayed at Bali Palms resort for two weeks in June. We were well prepared for the holiday by friends who know the area well. However the newcomer will receive excellent guidance from several friendly folk who keep the place buzzing. The resort retaurant and bar are very good and economical. Staff are excellent. Happy and helpful but not overwhelming. The a...

This is our fifth stay at Bali Shangrila and for sure will not be our last stay... A lovely location, right on a sandy beach (and there are not many other hotels in Candidasa that offer that). Big comfortable rooms and a fantastic friendly staff. We stayed in Unit 1, a lovely big apartment that has recently had the bathroom fully renovated to a very good standard.. We ...

Because the beach has eroded, most of the hotels in Candidasa sit on a sea wall that looks directly onto the sea, but there is no beach. If you are somebody like me who likes to look at the sea, smell the sea and hear the sea but does not necessarily need to swim in the sea, then this is the perfect spot for you. This resort is beautiful, quiet and relaxing. Some bunga...

We had our pleasant stay at TBH. Upon arrival, we are being informed that honeymoon private pool villa pool has been destroyed by the waves and under renovation. We are being offered to stay at two bedroom villa. A little disappointed not to have a private pool but we accepted since there were no guest at the villa at that moment and we can have the main pool to oursel...

While the Alila Manggis is one of the older resorts under the Alila brand name, I found it homely, cozy and completely unpretentious. It was also an excellent location to completely relax and chill out as it is in a secluded location far far away from the crowds. For those who enjoy the nightlife, you might want to stay away from here because even in the nearest town (...

This little gem hotel in Candidasa is simply fantastic. We were a group of 6 mid forties staying for a week. Candidasa suits the quiet, mellow traveller. The staff couldn't do enough for us and they are so friendly and helpful. Beautiful vista, clean rooms and perfect location. The only critism would be our room had no wardrobe or drawers for small items. The single b...

We really enjoyed our stay at Sagara. The room is very tastefully decorated and very large with great Aircon and cable TV (with all the channels). The pool area is very pretty with great views and nice beds in the sun or shade. We walked to a few beach bars close by and dinner at Vincent's just up the road was a highlight, some of the best food and service we have had ...

We loved it! We have stayed in many hotels in candidasa & this is now our favourite. The views from the ocean view rooms are amazing. The rooms themselves are very modern & spacious. We didn't use it but the communal kitchen on 2nd floor is a great idea. Pool was lovely, day beds there are plenty of you don't miss out on one as scattered everywhere. Annie was great, ...

Generally not writing feedbacks on hotels, but we want to make an exception this time. Truly appreciated the quality of this small hotel (15 rooms) facing the sea, with very well maintained premisses. Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, all staff very positive and eager to help. The hotel is a bit off-road. If you want to be quiet this is the place, and Candidasa mai...

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 days here. Quieter less tourist area with plenty of time to relax and unwind. Spent an entire day wandering around the Water Gardens next door and a day walking around the local village known for its brick making. Although we could not speak Indonesian and the locals could not speak English we communicated ok to learn how the brick making wa...

This hotel is located near the beach with a great view of the sea. Quiet area in Candidasa. The hotel area is nice and green with a pool, loungers, lanterns, massage area and a cozy resturant. Good atmosphere! The hotel staff was very helpfull and nice. The Villas witch we stayed in was great and had an awesome view from the balcony. Would stay again!

Nice hotel in Candidasa. Very nice spa, Prices are a little bit expensive. Breakfast is very very big and very delicious with a lot of choice. Restaurant is very good. They have also their own boutique with nice souvenirs with very reasonable prices. They can also organise a trip with a boat to White Sand beach which is beautiful and really must to see. The boat trip...

Villa Flow is very nice for an off-the-grid getaway. But It is very far from Candidasa or other places that have restaurants and other things to do. While it’s a lovely place it is extremely remote. The grounds are beautiful and the staff and management are excellent. If you are into a completely remote setting where there is no TV or alcohol (except Bintang), then you...

Our room was not big, but clean and had everything needed, including aircon, safe and water cooler (though the water was not very fresh). Nice porch with bench and coffee table was a pleasant place to have a little rest in the evening and watch some movies on ipad. The bathroom was fantastic: in Balinesian style, spacious and beautiful, which is rare in the hotels in t...

We stayed here only for one night. We had an open bathroom where at night the monkeys lived so we were scared like heel but apart from that our stay was amazing. There is not much to do in Candidasa and the beach is black so we really liked that the pool is so nice and the hotel as well. The staff was so friendly and the food at the restaurant was stunning. Had my best...

The hotel rooms form part of a family home. It is new, clean and you can hear and smell the ocean. The swimming pool is also a nice feature. The owners are very friendly and nice. The hotel is located in Jasri, not in Candidasa as displayed by Agoda. The location of the hotel was also incorrectly shown by the Agoda website. The beach is rocky, cannot really walk or swi...

Villa Mandala was a lovely location and lovely place to stay, the room was spacious and very comfortable, I think though it is in need of some minor refurbishment, the blind in the shower was broken, the mirrors were getting sad and the towels needed replacing. The grounds were spectacular and the staff so friendly and helpful, unfortunately I'm not sure if it was caus...

I had a great stay at Temple Cafe and Seaside Cottages! Super location, smack bang in the middle of Candidasa. Bungalows were clean and comfy, basically right next to the ocean. Beautiful gardens. Amazing view and sunset from tables and lounge chairs outside. Very relaxing. Great food and service - staff were attentive and kind - helped me arrange transport to gili air...

I would not recommend the place to most travellers for the sake that it is far away from the main busy strip of Candidasa. It takes 20 mins or so to get to Jasri from Candidasa. But for travellers intending to get away, it offers a good value for money. I enjoyed the company of the hosts immensely & I love the dog to bits (Please bring a ball for him someone). Faciliti...

This hotel was situated about an hour and a half by car from the airport and it is definitely worth it! Candidasa has some of the best food in Bali and great people! The hotel staff was great, though the owners didn't seem to want to have much to do with the hotel overall. The room was great though!
Cheap places to stay in Candidasa

Although the resort is kind of old, it has a marvelous location by the beach with a delightful garden and a very relaxing seaside pool area. Compared to the busy hotel next door (3 times more expensive), it was very quiet and I totally enjoyed the stay. The reception staff and the lady working for breakfast service were all very nice. I will surely come back when I pas...

For the low price, these are nice little bungalows right by the water. Know that there isn't really a beach here, but it's still nice to be by the sea. It's no fault of the hotel, but everything in Candidasa is on a busy, noisy road. This makes dining in the restaurant unpleasant. But it's pretty much the same everywhere. This is a nice place for a low price.

Sleep in little huts with open air showers and enjoy the company of this lovely, very friendly and welcoming family which serves delicious food. Recommended for people who want to experience real indonesian village life and want to cool off in a nice little pool. Might bring your own insect repellent or mozzie net tho.

Villas very clean. We had Seaview villa overlooking Lombok Strait. Quiet out of the way location. No hustle and bustle, In saying that you need to have a scooter or car, there is nothing around in the way of other eating venues close by and you cannot walk to any of the go to see places. The food in the hotel is lovely and a great food and bev menu. There are 3 pools a...

We arrived around 8pm on a Friday night. Exhausted after the long drive from Denpasar, Mangku and the lovely staff at Jepun Didulu welcomed us with open arms. From the minute we got their, we were treated to a 5 star experience. The free breakfast was delicious, complete with a meal of your choice, fruit, coffee and juice. Of course, the service was top notch as alway...

I stayed in candidasa for four nights and I chose to stay in villarossa for two nights and I regretted it immediately when I checked into the hotel on my first day in candidasa. I would love to stay there for the whole time when I m in candidasa. The villa is just lovely! I stayed in the delux room and the room was just fantastic! ! Spacious and huge bed and bathroom....

Good Karma is a simple family home stay set amidst the rice fields and walking distance to the beautiful water palace. This is our second visit and the owner is a beautiful lady who remembered us from 9 years ago The food in the restaurant is delicious and very reasonably priced. You must try the chicken satay while you are here - it is the best in Bali.

i stayed here for three days while in candidasa to do some scuba diving in october, 2012. i had an aircon room and it was quite comfortable. i liked the free water every day. wi-fi was also free, but i didn't like that as much. it was neither dependable nor fast. the grounds were lovely and very nicely landscaped. decent beach, and a restaurant with view of the water. ...

This is first time when spending holiday in Candidasa to stay in Gringsing Bungalow. They provide us two big standard garden room with aircond also big toliet and shower. We booked two room at this time. Breakfast in the morning is good. Staff will ask you in the nightbefore for breakfast choice that you will take in the morning and they will bring you in front of you...

In the middle of nowhere.. but good value for those who intend to go to Lempuyang Temple, Tirtaganga, etc. as there aren't much a variety of hotels. Roosters are so loud from very very early in the morning! Staffs are kind. Satisfying stay for us. Suggest taking your own amenities though.

The bungalow was wonderful and the view from the attached patio was the perfect place to relax and have breakfast. I must say that the host, Ketut and his family, were the main reason why we enjoyed our stay so much. They were very accomodating and sweet and made our visit a very memorable one. When we arrived the host gave us a very handy briefing on the activities a...

An old fashioned hotel which would have been stunning when it first opened 27 years ago. Needs a bit of TLC but is fine if you don't expect 5* luxury. The pool area and where you have breakfast has probably the bet views you will get anywhere, across the Lombok straight to Nusa Penida. There are some superb restaurants a short walk from the hotel also. It really is a ...

It's wrong on Google maps it's another 20 mins by car away from were it says. Very isolated. In very small village no were for food except a little shop that sells rice and chicken. Not very good internet does not work on the rooms way it says on ad it does. Woman and family that own it are very nice

There is a minimalism and artistic flare to this small resort. You won't find a TV or western music playing or even a mini fridge. But what you will find is a calm, serenity, peaceful atmosphere, with great staff and great simplicity that is just what we hoped for. It was a welcome change from all the pretentiousness of more extravagant hotels. This one will be a winne...

My husband and I loved our 3 days at the Abalone Resort. Marion is an amazing hostess/owner. Her attention to detail is wonderful. The food at Abalone was some of the best and healthiest we ...

The place is simply amazing, surrounded by jungle, it has a great swimming pool. Apartment are clean and cosy with everything you need. Villa is situated around 15 minutes walk from restaurants and pubs and far from sounds of a street. Only thing missing is a on site restaurant but you get food delivered within 40 minutes once you ask the stuff to order it for you

Villa Sasoon is great if you need to go to Candidasa - Candidasa isn't the sweeping sandy beaches that many know Bali for. We were there for a wedding, but unless you are keen on doing tours and diving, there isn't much around this part. The Villas are good - but the air con struggles (it's behind wooden slats to hide it from view but all this does is make it inefficie...

the stay in villa gading was a very relaxing experience. my family loved it, too. after arrival we were greeted by a friendly family running the compound. there are just 2 bungalows with 2 rooms each. we were lucky as there were no other visitors at that time and we had the whole hotel for ourselves. there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the beach, the pool, sunris...

Very impressed with this property - even more gorgeous than in the pictures. Exceeding expectations in everything, really - room, design, attentive staff, nice massage, picturesque ambiance, amazing breakfast and dinner. Very quiet, a perfect place to be together with someone you care for.

Had a wonderful 5 nights here at beginning of January, considering the amount of hotels and resorts candidasa itself is fairly quiet with not many tourist shops etc, but a handful of lovely restaurants worth visiting. The fishing trips I went on were good fun which you can arrange from the resort

Candidasa, a charming coastal town in Bali, offers a serene escape from the bustling tourist hotspots. Nestled along the eastern coast, it boasts stunning landscapes, tranquil beaches, and a laid-back atmosphere that beckons travelers seeking a slice of paradise. The allure of Candidasa lies in its ability to blend natural beauty with cultural richness, making it one of Bali's hidden gems. Visitors can enjoy the soft sands of its beaches, the gentle lapping of waves, and the picturesque views of the surrounding hills and rice fields. The calm waters are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and diving, providing a glimpse into the vibrant marine life that thrives beneath the surface.
What sets Candidasa apart from other Bali destinations is its emphasis on relaxation and authenticity. Unlike the crowded beaches of Kuta or Seminyak, Candidasa offers a more peaceful environment, allowing visitors to unwind and soak in the beauty of their surroundings. The town is dotted with charming cafes, local restaurants, and boutique shops, creating a delightful atmosphere for leisurely strolls. Whether you're lounging on the beach, exploring local culture, or enjoying a sunset dinner by the sea, Candidasa promises a unique experience that caters to all senses.
For those looking to delve deeper into Candidasa tourism, the nearby attractions are equally captivating. The stunning Tirta Gangga water palace, with its lush gardens and intricate fountains, invites exploration, while the Ujung Water Palace showcases the architectural beauty of Bali's royal heritage. These cultural sites add depth to the Candidasa experience, making it a perfect destination for those who appreciate both nature and history. With its blend of relaxation, adventure, and cultural exploration, Candidasa stands out as a must-visit location for travelers seeking the less-trodden paths of Bali.
Unveiling the Best Time to Experience Candidasa
Planning a trip to Candidasa requires a bit of insight into the local weather patterns and peak tourist seasons. The best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from April to October. During these months, the weather is typically warm and sunny, making it ideal for beach activities and outdoor adventures. The average temperature hovers around 30°C (86°F), providing the perfect backdrop for sunbathing, snorkeling, and exploring the nearby attractions. The dry season also sees less rainfall, ensuring that your plans are less likely to be disrupted by unexpected showers.
However, visiting during the wet season, from November to March, has its perks as well. While the rains can be heavier, they often come in short bursts, leaving plenty of time for activities in between. The landscape becomes lush and vibrant, and the tourist crowds thin out, offering a more intimate experience of Candidasa. Travelers who enjoy a quieter atmosphere and lower prices on accommodations may find this period appealing. Just be sure to pack a light raincoat or umbrella to stay prepared.
Regardless of when you choose to visit, Candidasa offers a range of activities and experiences year-round. It’s always a good idea to check local events and festivals that may coincide with your stay, as these can add an extra layer of excitement to your trip.
