Its was an Amazing Trip aspecily with Covid that held us back for 2years it felt like we never left, The Staff was unbelievable Friendly curiosity & helpful & Efficient we always would come back to Our Room cleaned with fresh sheets & towels & welcomed with great smiles & awesome attitudes from the staff we will definitely return, Thank u for making our stay AWESOME! Great Group Experience! ”
Stayed here with my group for a festival weekend and we had a really nice time. Downtown LV has such a fun, eclectic vibe. It’s still fun and busy but less packed and expensive than the strip. I’ve been coming to the California and Main Street since I was a tiny kid with my family. The rooms have been renovated in recent years but the people/staff are the real stars of the show - kind, thoughtful, friendly, and full of aloha :)

I would refer to anyone, family and friends. They have Hawaiian food, great attitude. Place and room was clean. Games was great, would prefer to play there or new york new york. When we stayed it wasn't packed at all also when ordering food it came fast. Give it a thumbs up 100%.

The cal is my favorite downtown hotel and casino. Best prices 24 hour eateries and is connect to main street hotel and casino via bridge. We go to Vegas at least 3 times a year and we always fit in the cal with one of our visits!

Excellent”
This is a great place to experience Fremont/downtown LV without the noise of Fremont. It’s only a block away and is really affordable. The hotel/casino itself is pretty small which makes it easy to navigate through it. I love staying here with my group of friends because it’s affordable so each couple can get their own rooms and It’s easy to split up and get back together since you can walk to so many places!

priced okay. 3minute walk to the freemont experience. free parking. nice market cafe resto. the famous oxtail soup i was not able to try since they serve it after 11pm. nice slot machines. staff a-okay.

Bed sheets and pillow cases didn’t smell clean, it smelled like someone slept in our bed for days. Husband, youngest son and I have little small bumps on our legs and arms caused by itching.

Disappointing!!”
I like the California Hotel and Casino because it is not on Fremont street. It is quieter. I was very unhappy with my last stay. I reserved a "non-smoking" room (because I don't tolerate cigarette smoke well, due to asthma) and I got a smoking room. All the non-smoking rooms where taken? That is a deal breaker for me!!! It was like sleeping in a hookah lounge!! It was really bad! Staff didn't really seem to care? I think that when it comes to hotel issues that may effect a persons health...... the hotel should have done more!!!!

Not worth the money, no restful nights”
You can hear everything on the street, in your neighbor's rooms. You can smell everything they're smoking. The bed felt like it was cardboard, and you were given 2 giant pillows per bed which were actually cumbersome. The showerhead and faucet were crummy. Staff was indifferent.

Extremely poor customer relations”
We had an accident an therefore could not come and asked for some kind of compensation or if the hotel could do anything to help us out. They never even asnwered our email. Worst customer experience ever. If your customer tells you that he had a bad accident, the least you can do is show some compassion but do not ignore him like a pice of cattle. I will make sure I never book you again.

Comfortable rooms”
The hotel has very comfortable rooms all recently renovated with very comfortable beds . Our party of 7 were very pleased with their new rooms/beds etc. The only issues were the smoky casino (found in every hotel/casino in LV) and the music heard in some rooms (but not all) from Fremont Street late in the evening. Not a fault of the Hotel as the large property complex that was the Las Vegas Club and various casinos were demolished recently allowing the noise to be heard as there is nothing between it and Fremont Street. That should not be a problem once the new casino complex is finally rebuilt. The gym is a bit tiny for our purposes. we ate mainly at the adjoining Main Street Station buffets. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Great place to stay”
Check in was easy. Plenty of parking. Great location to visit Fremont Street and only a short cab ride to the strip. Loved our room. It was a great space to relax in. We liked the ice cream shop upstairs and loved the access to the Main Street Station and their fabulous breakfast buffet. We attended the Champagne brunch and the staff was very friendly. Everything was clean. The pool area was well kept. The only complaints were that the water was a little too chilly and the WiFi service was a little slow. We will definitely recommend the California and will likely stay there in future visits.

Clean, Quality Rooms with the Spirit of Aloha”
This hotel has been recently renovated, and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of these rooms. Plantation shades (openable) on the windows to keep out the bright Vegas lights, the largest flat screen televisions we've seen in any Vegas hotel room, and quality workmanship/finishes make the rooms look like someone took the time and care to do things right. The Spirit of Aloha theme is echoed throughout. Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are clean, and ammenities (like the pool, restaurants, and casino areas) are inviting. The location is right off of thw Freemont Street action, but our stay was quiet and comfortable. We highly recommend staying here.

Enjoyed staying here. The room was good, clean, good for us as we didn't spend a whole lot of time in it except for sleeping and relaxing. No view except for the construction going on across the street by the Plaza Hotel and Casino. The room was close to the elevators though, which was convenient. Tub and toilet are in the same small cramped room. Had to go into the toilet/shower room and clear the toilet before closing the door. Very tight in there if you are using the toilet. Beds were comfortable for the most part. A/C was somewhat noisy. Staff were very nice and friendly and the hotel and casino are clean. Would recommend staying here if you are looking for a downtown location. Pool is very small for a hotel though. Good access to Fremont Street experience and all the local people from the Hawaiian Islands!

Great value and location in downtown Las Vegas. Room was clean and spacious. Restaurants offer wide variety of Asian cuisine at good prices. Casinos are a bit smoky but the pay offs for slots are better then the strip hotels
