Best Place in Amed for the Price!”

We love it here. When we are back in the United Stateswe think about our time in Amed at Bukit Indah. We have two small children and like to stay in the family room. It is large enough for us with two queen beds, a big bathroom, a couch, a verandah, and also a lookout tower with beautiful views of the sea. Oh! And it has a small kitchen with a sink, a burner, and a large fridge, perfect for storing snacks and cereal with milk for the kids. The place is as clean as it can be in a tropical area and whenever we needed it cleaned up the staff seemed happy to do so which we appreciated. Children can be a bit messy, especially after a day at the beach. :) We love the family who runs this place. They are very warm, friendly, and helpful. They made us feel comfortable so far away from home.

Great value in Amed”

This is a pleasant little homestay with three bungalows run by a nice family. The bungalows are up on a hill. The AC one has a nice view of the sea. The others too, but their views are a bit obstructed. For the low price it is great. It's not on the beach, but it is only a five minute motorbike ride away. The family is friendly and helpful. They took me to the Nyepi eve ceremony to watch the ogah ogah. A highlight of my time in Bali. As in all homestays, the rooms are basic, and the breakfast is blah. That should not be held against this place. The price is low, the locations is good, and the family is friendly. Highly recommended.

Wonderful, Relaxing Stay”

I highly recommend this homestay if visiting the Amed area. Our room was amazing. We booked the two double bed room, not expecting much, and we're blown away when we were shown to our room. It was beautiful with a lovely, large patio, beautiful plants, views of the ocean, gardens, etc., and the best...an observation deck set up even higher than the rest of the room with a bamboo shade cover and two bamboo lounge chairs. The view was outstanding! There was also a small room with a mini stove and sink which came in handy to boil eggs and water for tea. The room itself was very large with two beds and a comfy couch. The bathroom was a gorgeous Balinese style room. It was refreshing to have the shower on the opposite end of the toilet for once. :) Breakfast was also nice with a choice of either an egg or pancake. Also coffee. Several nights we ordered food up to our patio to eat and it was delicious. The internet worked very well for the area. We had friends down the street at Jepun Bai (or something...just know it was expensive) and their internet was nonexistent. The couple who ran the place were super warm, friendly, helpful, kind to our two young boys. We had booked four nights and ended up staying eight. I was sad to leave. It was a perfect place to stay in Amed.

Quite a nice place to stay, very friendly staff !”

We staid in this homestay for a short time (3-4 days) about a month ago, this is in the middle of the road to several snorkeling spots and restaurants. You can find a place to eat around on a walking distance. The staff is a big family with curious kids and friendly parents, you can hire scooter and snorkeling gear, they have good advice and don't try to rub you ! The extra plus was that they brought us to the bus by scooter without asking anything, just willing we had a nice stay at their place which we definitely had! Good place, nice hotel and awesome friendly people, we recommend this place 200% !

Beautiful hotel in Amed”

This hotel is beautiful, we had an amazing view of the ocean from our balcony! The room was clean and they provide you with everything you need! It is located up on the hill in Amed so even though it is a good location, close to some restaurants and a bar and a little store, if you want to go down to the beach, be prepared to walk back up that hill! But it's not so bad, or you could rent a motorbike, but we didn't mind walking. The couple who owns it is super nice an took us into town one their bike to go to the ATM and they even offered to take us to the beach! The breakfast they provide is great and the restaurant they have is pretty good as well, or there are quite a few close by you can choose to go to. *WARNING about Amed: it is a great little town with fun reggae bars and some AMAZING snorkeling, but if you are a woman please be careful in the water! If you go out snorkeling alone, be cautious because there were at least 3 incidents while we were there of a man who would approach solo female snorkelers in the water Please don't go with anyone in the water you are unfamiliar with and stay in view of the beach!

Amazing , comfortable just like home ”

This place was Simply Amazing , the staff was super friendly , cooked breakfast for me , the view from the room is amazing the sunrise is a must watch from the rroom and the price was incredible , where I'm from a room like that would cost over 1k usd a night and I paid nowhere near that , I will definitely be staying again

Fine stay at Bukit Indah Homestay ”

My friend stayed at Bukit Indah for three days and we had a fine time. Security was not great as the locks on our cabinet was broken but other than that it was a good stay.

Simple, Clean & Friendly Stay”

I had a very pleasant overnight stay. Room was basic but very clean and comfortable. I had a great view of the ocean. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. There's no frill but for this price it's a very good value!

good choice for 14 euros per night in Amed”

We stayed 2 weeks and loved it. Very good cooked breakfast, best hot shower in Bali, ok AC, very nice seaview from our bungalow. Staff was very friendly - thank you. A scooter is a must to reach the good snorkeling points, the good food outlets in Culik and to see all the good spots in the area.

Fabulous view ”

Amazing location facing the ocean with an unbelievable sunrise and great for star gazing at night time. The stairs to get to the property are fairly hard when caring a backpack but totally worth it The fan in the room was very poor and didn’t little to nothing. As the sun is shining in the room for most the day it gets super hot and could do with a stronger fan. Wasn’t the end of the world though :)

Good stay at Bukit Indah Homestay”

Stay was fine. Meals were cheaper here than surrounding restaurants but quality just average so that is fair for the price. Amed was a bit hot and humid for me so I made good use of the air conditioning.

We still love staying here. The views and friendly owners make it worth it.

amazing view”

The homestay is in a nice location if you rent a scooter.. Restraunts and bars close enough to walk though. We loved the view out of the aircon room but found it quite hard to communicate with the staff. The room was nice and clean, the terrace is really relaxing and has a amazing view over the sea..Perfect to watch the sunrise! Amazing snorkelling very close by. But sorry, the breakfast is abit of a disaster! Would reccomend though and would stay again just for the view.

Room for Improvement ”

I'm sad to be obliged to give a bad review to this place , but I hope will serve as an incentive to improve some aspects. Bukit Homestay is located in the hilly part of Amed and disposes of a series of nice bungalows, nevertheless the place is very badly maintained . My room was dirty, squalid and with no place to store or hang up clothes apart a small smelly wardrobe. The illumination was cold and not sufficient to read or use the bathroom . The common space was also dirty and the first morning they served me a coffe mug with lipstick , left the hotel 2 days after my arrival !! I think it need more care from the people to be a nice place to spend your holiday .

best homestay in amed ”

the most welcoming place I've been , I've stayed at a many places over the course of a month of my travels and this is the only place ive stayed at for more than 2 nights , the staff was very welcome and treated us like family , the views are amazing and the sunrise view left me speechleess,

It's ok”

Very cosy place, i liked our privat terrace and the view. Room was clean, but i asked to change towels because they were smelly. Staff was pleasant. For couple of hours electricity was gone so the staff gave us some candles, i even liked it :D

Average”

It's a quite average homestay. People try to be nice (as long as you don't expect too much from them) and the sight over the sea is quite good. The beach is near like everywhere on this coastlone full of big stones. The WiFi is a joke and when you complain about it you just hear a nice answer like "Many nights many WiFi-problems"! - That's what I meant with: Don't expect too much of them... The breakfast is below average We are travelling now since over six months through Asia by backpack and we can say it's totally average: we had cheaper, cleaner, larger rooms with better service and we had all this they way round to the worse. Just don't expect too much and it will be priceworthy

No hot water and a broken lock ”

An outdated, bit dirty, room. The lock of the door wasn’t working, so I was locked in for a bit. The staff member checked it and said it was ok, but later on I had the same problem again. There was no hot water in the shower while they do advertise with this. The owner upgraded me with AC, by giving me the remote of the AC that was in the room (book a room with AC, fan isn’t working sufficient) to make up for it. That was a nice gesture for sure. But still wouldn’t recommend it. O and the Agoda discount price is just their normal rate. So if you go, expect cheap and you might be ok with it.
