Amazing resort!”

Bloo Lagoon is one of the nicest resorts I have ever stayed at. The staff are exceptionally nice and helpful, the location is perfect, perched on a mountain just near the town. The room was clean and really well designed. Felt like a little oasis. The pool area is picturesque. Five stars all round!

Nice overnight stay”

The property is very nice, villas dotted all over the entire property. They have a vegetable garden and focus on sustainability. With Padang Bai being a typical transit destination for the Gilis and Lombok, Nusa Penida etc, the location is overlooked. A one or two night stay is actually recommended. Due to the ongoing travel restrictions with international travellers, the entire property was empty, basically having it to ourselves...

Great resort in Padangbai”

If you want to stay in Padangbai, this is a great option. This is a nice resort with great facilities (swimming pool, spa, restaurant, free shuttle to the city centre). The main question is: do you want to stay in Padangbai. There is not much to do and the city is mostly a transit point to other islands such as the Gili's.

Room with a view in surprisingly lovely port town”

Elevated position, interesting architecture, friendly atmosphere. BL supplied 40 litre water units in the room was a great bonus and saved all that issue of going out to get more water. Also coffe and tea and a full kitchen with utensils if they were needed.
We liked pretty much everything about this hotel. No cons that we could see.

bloo lagoon is a project rather than a hotel. architecturally eco designed units are privately owned and let out to travellers so effectively you are staying in someone's house. the view across padang bay and back across the lombok strait is superb. we met quite a few of the unit owners who appear to spend months there. everyone was very friendly. as we were only staying overnight we didn't really get to explore the area but had excellent accounts of things to do and see in east bali from the residents. we were there in december and it was hot and also the low season so the staff were eager to look after us. excellent pool area with a super slide which we all enjoyed.

Bloo Lagoon tranquility”

Friendly staff, green ethos, great food, tranquil location
Do not assume that you will have aircon in your unit. Not all have them, although an open concept and ceiling fan does give a nice breeze. Beach can be rough when the wind/currents come from the wrong location.

We only had 4 days in Bali, but we definitely wanted to stay longer after our time at the Bloo Lagoon. Open concept villas give a nice view of the sea and volcano if you wake early enough to see it. Although advertised with aircon, our unit didn't have it. However, with 3 sides open with doors/windows and a ceiling fan, there was a nice breeze to cool things down at night. Comfortable enough, but not for everyone. Outdoor shower and toilet came complete with a frog, geckos, and other bugs. Not a problem though - again not for everyone's taste. Spa was nice, and we also took a cooking class in our villa. The fresh cooked, Bloo Lagoon grown and local bought food was fantastic. Once the new restaurant is completed, this will make it even better! The beach, which is located about 5 mins down hill from the resort was nice but small and not to many people trying to sell things. However, if the wind blows, this beach is not the safest or easiest place to swim/snorkel as currents do become strong. 5 mins further down the hill brings you to Padangbai town. Shopping, food, bars and market for those wanting to escape. Its definitely not Kuta though! The staff were all amazing and made us feel really welcome and greeted us by our names through out our stay. We will be back one day I hope! A very different kind of place to stay - friendly, not your normal creature comforts (no tv or aircon etc). But did we miss them? Not at all. Sitting by the pool or relaxing reading a book in our villa listening to the sea was just perfect.

Bali Bloo Lagoon oasis ”

Gorgeous place, breez in those cliff-facing bungalows, sea view fantastic! great snorkling in the lagoon at the bottom - corals from knee deep, shark, sting ray etc! very small community with very helpful staff and nice kitchen.
Still construction that's pretty quite and doesn't disturb - building the 3 layers restaurant with a cave-bar. Padangbai diving instructors are not extremely friendly if you are not German, as we aren't. No TV, no hot water. Internet in the office only.

Will absolutely recommend Bloo Lagoon for couples and families looking for a paradise. Just relax and enjoy heaven. Advertised as More Green - can't possibly be more than here! Don't plan there to be disturbed with any bars, shopping etc. Book a tour to look around local villages, volcanos etc if you have more time Lagoon water is usually still with only minor waves and good shade.

Relaxing massages, great views and lots of fish.”

The spa, snorkelling, chilling on your own terrace.

Had an amazing stay at Bloo Lagoon, great place, warm and helpful staff from gardeners to front office. Was immediately upgraded to a double villa which had amazing views over the bay and over to Mount Batur. The spa was brilliant and well priced, couldn't get enough of it and the nearby beach was the best snorkelling spot I have ever been to. Yoga with Stefan was a bonus and breakfast was very appetising and what a view. The atmosphere was great and all the kids seemed to have a great time at the pool and interacting with the staff, definitely a great place for families.

If there is a heaven, it is Bloo Lagoon!”

BEST MASSAGE of my life! (And my husbands!) The massage was in a beautiful location on the side of the hill overlooking the ocean. Beautiful room! Loved the indoor/outdoor design. Beautiful pool and fun pool slide! The morning yoga class was amazing! Breakfast buffet and all meals were healthy and delicious! Incredible views from the room and restaurant. We stayed here for 2 nights between coming from Lombok and going to Ubud. We didn't explore the town of Padang Bai at all, but it was a convenient location near the port. Being in Padang Bai we were able to take a day trip to Pura Lempuyang Temple and some other sites in the eastern side of the island. It was a lovely place to stay, relax, and forget about the rest of the world.

Heavenly retreat from Bali madness”

Charming and relaxed village with all the best that Bali used to be known for

Poor old Bali - some of us do not improve with age. Bloo Lagoon Hotel however is a welcome reprieve from the depths that the rest of Bali has sunk to. A beautifully designed and relaxed village perched on the side of the hill with majestic views of the mountains and ocean. Semi open thatched cottages delightful and comfortable. Well removed from the flash resort style that is commonly available. But someone really has to do something about the intense garbage problem of this island.

Best in Padang Bai”

Nice villas. There are 2 sides of the resort: the Padang Bai side and the Mt Agung side. Most people prefer the Agung side because it has sunrises and because the other side has noises from the ferry. We had 2 rooms, each with a queen-size bed. One had air conditioning and the other had a fan and a natural ceiling to keep the room cool. Each room had its own outside shower. Between the rooms was an open-air common area with mini sink, refrigerator, etc. We also had a patio with couch and coffee table. The outside areas do get a little dusty but are shaded by roofs so they stay cool.

Panoramic ocean views from a wooden bungalow”

Beautiful views of the ocean, relaxed atmosphere, connection to gardens

Bloo Lagoon was a highlight of our trip to Bali. We were in Room 22, which provided un-interupted ocean views from Mt Rinjani (Lombok) in the East around to Mt Agung (Bali) in the West. The bungalows are not fancy - unpolished wooden floors, a simple kitchen, outdoor bathroom. Therefore it's probably not suitable for people who like glossy hotels. But we loved it. The rooms are comfortable and open to the air. Birds, insects and geckos can be seen around (and sometimes in) the villas. Breakfasts are great.
