The hotel is so cheap, but it doesn't mean it has cheap service. All the staffs was generous. The room was quite cozy, the bathroom was so unique. One think that maybe the hotel needs to improve is water pressure. the pressure was not enough for having a good and comfortable shower. but overall its okay

Beautiful mansion full of amazing artifacts. Breakfast was one of the best and attentive staff. Located away from centre of Jogja but great local food especially the ikan bakar just down the road. Area a bit run down is the only downside. Room was great and everything working. Luxury on a budget

great staff. When check in the room allocated was not good. The bathroom was super smelly and the roof was shared with other room next door. No privacy. Staff was very kind to assign another room which was much better. Very basic. Value for money. I would not book it again though. Breakfast served was great.

The room was large and airy good ac comfy bed. How ever the breakfast was just quay quay and coffee. The bathroom needed a revamp. The pandemic has clearly affected this and many other previously fine establishments.

Feeling like home ”
Staying at Balai Melayu Hotel was not like staying in a hotel, it was feeling more like staying with a family. We changed rooms three times during our 6 nights stay in Yogyakarta. First, the rooms are very nice. Big and with beautiful decoration. The first room was just a bit loud because of its proximity to the road. We told the owner the next morning and it was no problem to change to another room. Before our last night, the AC somehow didn't work anymore, but again, no problem to switch the room. The staff was helping us with getting around, giving advice and asking about our days. Even we came late for breakfast and they still prepare it for us and a lot. We barely could finish all that food! I would recommend the Balai Melayu Museum hotel to anyone, who doesn't want to have stereotype hotel. It is very unique and rare to find that kind of hotel and hospitality!

Nice room decor and worth every peny u spend”
Our stay was worth every penny. wait untill u see the room. The room was really nice and tidy. There was a nice balcony too. These was very suitable for family too. But the water heater didnt work well most of the time. But we really enjoy our stay and it was located near city centre too. It was a really nice stay overall. I would recommend this for my friends/relatives and surely will go staying on this hotel for next visit to Jogja
