The staff at Askhara is really friendly and the room looked very nice. However, it turned out to be very very dirty. Stains on the floor, hairs on the bed, and a completely dirty toilet. After complaining about that, somebody went in to clean the room again. However, after one hour it looked exactly the same, so we had to clean it ourselves (including the probably year-old urine stains on the toilet). Surprisingly, there was a free breakfast included in our booking, but it had some hairs in it as well. Also, they have a free laundry service, but some clothes just looked exactly the same as before. So to sum up, the staff is nice and eager to help, but hygiene is just not their strong suit. PS: some reviews mention the mosque next to the hotel. While that didn't bother us at all (very quiet and way more pleasant to hear than most Indonesian prayer songs), there's a coffee shop just outside the building playing loud music every night until 12pm or even later.

Well, actually too expensive for an hostel. I have problem with cleanliness. I found death cockroach in room. Wall have yellow stain. They dont have any door for separates toilet and bedroom. Too much mosquito, and air conditioner not cold at all. Westafel pipe was leak. But, their staff is great, i get breakfast even in my package dont mention any breakfast, they have "nasi pecel" or just bread with jam. Sharing facility = coffee/tea maker, microwave, refrigerator, even they have their own laundry for free. And the backyard is great also.
