It also very close to outram park mrt station, in fact it is located on top of the station, so getting around Singapore would not be a challenge. We chose this hotel for location to be near Singapore General Hospital. Staff were pleasent and efficient and upgraded us because our chosen room was not ready on arrival. The room was clean and in good condtion, the aircon worked well and was not freezing. The location is convenient for shopping at nearby malls, MRT and Sentosa is just 5 mins by taxi. Complimentary mineral water for two. But the glasses and cups were not changed during my 4 nights stay there. The hair dryer was smell burned so I didn't use it. I stayed at executive room so it was not to small (17 m).

A fantastic little minimalistic gem in the heart of china town, in super friendly singapore. I love the stark minimalistic decor. The owners are very friendly and so is the staff at the frontdesk. one little glitch....the tiles in the shower are not properly cleaned and you can see mildew. but that was in room 202. if ever i come to singapore again , i hope i will be...A fantastic little minimalistic gem in the heart of china town, in super friendly singapore. As visiting Singapore General Hospital every day this was very good location being around 10 minutes walk away. That apart the location is still very good as Outram park and Chinatown mrt stations only 5 minutes walk away. There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the doorstep and even a 7/11 50 meters away. The heart of Chinatown is also only a few minutes walk. People often complain about room size at this type of hotel of which there a few in the area. Staying on my own and paying a little more for a DL Queen I found the room ample and would have been OK for two. Room had fridge, tea coffee making facilities, excellent free wifi and TV though if you watch TV in your room then this was a downside as only 2 watchable English channels, CNBC which is just US business news and an HBO film channel. The free breakfast is simple but was OK for me. If you are expecting 4/5 star facilities and room they you are looking at the wrong place and in Singapore expect to pay substantially more.

Cozy little hotel. The room is nice although the bathroom is quite small, but you have everything you need in this hotel. The area around the hotel is nice, with many cafe and beautiful oldies building. Very near with the famous foodcourt in chinatown. The lady in front desk is very nice and helpfull, she was helping us a lot as i made a mistake during booking through ...Cozy little hotel. Excellent. I have stayed at the best 5 star hotels in Singapore on Orchard Road but got tired of paying $250 per night. The Southbridge is very cheap by comparison but much better. It is in a beautifully converted old shophouse, but done up internally in a stylish and modern way, everything new and clean. Only a few months open so new beds, new bedding, new bathroo...Excellent. Need a key to use the elevator both up and down, and an electronic room safe for passport, etc. There is a nice bar with boutique beers at street level. It is 1 min walk to Chinatown MRT and so one can easily travel the whole island from there. It is also 1 min to the famous Chinatown restaurants and bars not to mention an Islamic Mosque, a Hindu Temple and a Bhuddist temple. Surprisingly, it is also very quiet, the windows seem to be double glazed so very little noise. There is also a 24/7 self service laundry only 5 mins walk away in Sago Lane. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay there again. I was in a single room, there alone, on business, so I don't know what the rooms for couples and families are like. But I would be surprised if they were not as good as my room. If I had one complaint it is that they need cable TV. The TV has about 8 channels but about 6 of them dedicated to sport. I find sport boring and so had very little to watch when I wanted to chill out at the end of a night of Chinatown dining.

There were safety box, fridge, hair dryer, coffee / tea maker, bathroom amenities, etc. The cleanliness, the shower, the bed, I have no complains at all. The service also very good, from the receptionist to the housekeeping, all will greet you with smile. Overall, two thumbs up for this hotel. Definitely will stay here again on my next visit to Singapore.

I booked rooftop room with terrace. Always small rooms in Singapore but this was pretty big. Nicely decorated and clean. Great having a bit of outdoor space on the roof terrace - table and chairs plus clawfoot bath if you wanted to soak/cool down after a hard days sightseeing. the location is the best because it’s accessible to good food and nice tourist spots since its located in the heart of Chinatown. But the downside is the noise. If you are a light sleeper then this place is not for you. You can hear the music from the streets till around 12MN. Despite that the staff are very accommodating and helpful with super late check in and booking grab cars. The room was small (given for Singapore Hotels) but the space was maximised in a way that it ddnt feel suffocating. The hotel was recently renovated so it looks new and it was kept clean as well. Without the noise that came with the location Hotel 1887 is definitely worth your money.

We were disappointed to find out that the pool at Maxwell was shut for an event but reception offered us an amazing solution and we ended up dining at The Yellow Pot (recommend the mee sua noodles and the sirloin ...We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Six Senses Duxton, from the smooth check in to the 10/10 service from the staff our stay was nothing short of fabulous. We were disappointed to find out that the pool at Maxwell was shut for an event but reception offered us an amazing solution and we ended up dining at The Yellow Pot (recommend the mee sua noodles and the sirloin black pepper beef cubes). We booked the Opium room and I was thrilled to soak up the chinoiserie and dark mysterious vibe from A. Hempel. We even headed to the Maxwell location for a western breakfast the following morning, think sourdough croissant, banana parfait, eggs Benedict crab cakes, chicken waffles to name a few of our selects. I would absolutely return again and perhaps book a different suite the next time:-)

Tough luck only when you get the rooms without windows or small bathrooms. Otherwise, it is very comfortable and convenient.

As long as it's only somewhere to lay your head at night you'll be okay. Anyhow, I had booked a Zen Room here but when I saw it - and smelt it - I immediately complained to reception and was given a free 'upgrade' into a standard Porcelain Hotel room. Although barely big enough to swing a hamster in, (never mind a cat). It was far superior, in terms of decor, fixtures and fittings compared with the Zen Room. The Zen Room looked like it belonged in a different hotel altogether. Not recommended!

My first and very last time I'm booking rooms thru Zen. Worst experience ever. Everything went smoothly with the online booking with confirmation sent to me and when time to check in, Hotel doesn't have any record of my booking and staff have to try very hard to contact t people from Zen which took ages. After finally contacted Zen, they gave me another choice of Hotel which I've no choice but to accept. But guess what? 5mins after I accept the change, I was informed that the hotel was fully booked!! Waited for another 15mins and was offered 2 choices of hotel which both are smacked right in the middle of the Red Light district which I have to choose 1, out of desperation then i chose 1 which when checked in, it was obvious that everyone smokes in the room and was a love motel that rent by the hours. I checked out the next day even though i booked it for 3 nights as it was really unbearable to stay for another night. The hotel was ok overall, it was Zen Room that sucks big time!
