nice stay
near beach, near local restaurant and friendly staff

It was nice, really close to Karon beach. Eventhough there was blackout when we arrived but it just happened once. Over all NICE..

Nice hotel with good service

We were very happy to stay at the Local Motion Inn. The staff was helpfull, the room was clean - the balcony could do with a renovation, the floor (wood) was rotten. We had a De luxe room and they face the back which was nice, there was no noise from the bars around the hotel

Papaya restaurant like nedi i gata, gir full valuta for pengene, i en trivelig og pen atmosfære. Desidert beste valg i Karon

great location,large room but needs refurbished
location is great,near the beach,shops and bars

i stayed here for 4 nights with my 12 year old son,the rooms we had was at the back which was comfortable with good shower,tv fridge,safety deposit box.there is no pool here,staff were ok not too friendly,breakfast was a buffet with several choices.
Tip untuk Ciri Hotel:
there are plenty of other guest houses in the area with more superior rooms for less money,expect to pay 1000baht per night,the area is perfect but i would not stay at the local motion inn again.

If you wouldn't mind getting your head down in a slum for a night or two then the Local Motion is for you.It was dirty, the quilt was about a hundred years old and i wouldn't have used the towels to clean my dogs backside. Shower was covered in grime and they had made a spout for the sink tap out of an old elastoplast, disgusting!! Also, there was a large hole on the floor of the balcony, which a small child could have fallen through. We were meant to be staying for 2 nights but needless to say we booked out a day early, forfeiting our money. Never in a million years was it a deluxe room and certainly not worth the money, £2 per night would have been ample. In comparison to the other rooms we stayed in during our stay in Phuket, quite frankly, there was none. Maybe suitable for backpackers etc, but then again, the price of these rooms would not fall into that bracket!!! Lesson learned!!

I was really surprised by how bad this place was considering the positive reviews. Where to begin...Shockingly rude and dismissive receptionist which is rare for Thailand. Poorly maintained run down rooms, a serious mosquito problem, horrible breakfast, weak WiFi signal that doesn't reach all rooms, neighbours that play loud music until all hours. I could say more but what's the point. Take a hint. Think twice before staying here. It's cheap but it's substandard. You get what you pay for.

We were upgraded to the sister hotel about 5 minute walk up the road as our room was not available. We're very glad about this as the locamotion inn is in a very busy corner and the other place we stayed was nice and peaceful.
Was called Karon view(sister hotel)
Tip Tarikan Perhatian/Pemandangan:
We rented a scooter and rode up the coast to Leam Singh.. Such a beautiful beach with great snorkeling. Much less crowded than Kata Karon and Patong

Poor service but nice restaurant

First hotel shuttle brought us to another hotel far away on the hill due to missing rooms at Local Motion (however we've payed total price at the moment of booking).
After we pushed the driver to get us to Local Motion they checked us in to two small standart rooms on the first floor with roof view to the street (we've booked deluxe rooms with balconies and negotiated backside view in advance with the hotel).
We arrived with 2 small babies and got no help or understanding from the stuff regarding these issues.
All we got - is the difference between deluxe and standart room cost.
Good news is pretty nice and cheap restaurant they have.
